Back to your squabble.... Chuck... TON of time on your hands for a Wednesday.... I was at Midtoen Comics just a couple of hours ago and they had stacks of them still. Is this going to be a flash in the pan or does anyone think there's some staying power. Should I go back and grab some?

Going against the current, aren't you ? Do you have stacks of #98's to flip ? First thought that popped in my head. Ween is in the Preview-or-ad-is-a-first-appearance crowd. So unless you think anything in print qualifies as a first appearance over an appearance in an actual story, take anything he says with a grain of salt. Note that I'm not saying that ads, previews, sketchbooks, etc. don't have relevance to the collector (I pick up decent copies of Marvel Age 82 when I see them for cheap), but it's just not as important IMO as an appearance in creative content.

Yes, the BW sold out quickly once it was available to everyone. The regular Boba took a little longer. I imagine the difference is that so many more people knew about the BW when it went on sale, and there were strong sales results for the color one to tempt people to buy many of the BW.

First time I've seen this book. I wonder how many other cases there are of a logo for a character that prominently features some other character.

CGC label currently says 11. Maybe, but Marvel identifies #8 as the first appearance.

Wait a minute, I'm a little out of the loop. Are people suggesting that due to a ret-con, NM 98 is no longer the first appearance of Domino? Seriously? Is it really a retcon if it took place within a year? My philosophy is that it's a retcon if there is not clearly evidence presented in the story being changed that all is not as it seems. It doesn't have to be overwhelming evidence, just something that clearly indicates in retrospect that it was the intention of the writer that we're not getting the full story.

Based on the writing style, I think it's a fair bet that Rick moma is jaydam45, who, based on the volume of posts and threads created talking up the Old Man Logan reprints, is probably sitting on a stack to sell, rather than accumulate more.

That's an impressive result, but I don't expect to see many like it soon (although my CGC 9.8 would like to believe otherwise)

That one was a 1:125 linewide, but I think there were only 5 titles being published at the time.
