I think there's a debate to be had about when one can consider him integrated into the Marvel Universe, considering the storyline.

In my building boxes are left below the mailboxes, in the hallway just off the lobby. I actually had a few shipments from CGC (sent Registered Mail) left out there. I wonder what would have happened if it had been stolen. Fully insured, and they wouldn't have a signature for the delivery.

I don't think I finished that mini, but the first bunch of issues takes place on a world that's a combination of a bunch of different Marvel eras and universes, so it's not technically the 616 but Miles is there. The final issue may be where they all return to the 616 Earth. He's interacting with 616 characters before then, so I'm not sure that the first issue where he's on the 616 Earth is really all that important.

That was the basic problem with the '90s implosion. There were comics featuring some specific new characters, or new series, or comics from new publishers that suddenly were worth a lot of money, and then speculators jumped on the first appearance of any new character or series, thinking that there would be value there too. For the value to stick, the interest has to stick, and that's only going to happen under certain circumstances. I haven't been reading the DC stuff, but from what I can gather it seems too wild to maintain steam, since you can't maintain the level of insanity that the storyline is pumping out

You don't know what the print run will be.

I think sustained value for Invincible books will only happen if the series sticks in the public consciousness, rather than just with comic fans. That's why Walking Dead took off so much. Because even if you don't watch the show, you've probably at least heard of it. That's also why some Marvel first appearances for major characters hold their value, and some slip back. When the characters are memorable for *everyone* they're more desired.

This was published after some of the new series like Champions, wasn't it? The bigger question I think is whether appearing alongside other MCU characters in Secret Wars qualifies as being in the MCU.

True. I think to a large extent, a lot of demand is driven by the feel of the collector. That's one of the reasons why Uncanny X-Men 266 goes for so much more than UXM Annual 14. Almost certainly there are more copies of 266. The Annual was published first, but is a fraction of the price. Largely that is because of the vagaries of the Marvel publishing schedule, which necessitated that the Annual be published first, even if it was clear that it would have worked better if UXM 266 came out first.

Personally I think the Copper Age extends later into the '90s than most, probably until around 1997 or so, when Marvel ended and relaunched most of its long-running series, when DC rebooted JLA, and when many indy publishers ended their new superhero universes. So i think this qualifies as Copper:

I think Sensational Spider-man was a replacement title after Web and Spectacular ended. But Marvel Tales was being published at the same time as those. I remember when I first started collecting being really confused as to why the numbering of my Spider-man comics was all over the place, before realizing that they were different series.

The only example I can think where this might apply is Domino. The real Domino first appeared in X-Force 8, in a flashback story. Prior to that, the depictions of Domino was that of an imposter. But if the design is the important aspect of identifying a first appearance, then it would be New Mutants #98. Either way, it's not X-Force #11.

It's funny that you think of that as cheap, because I bought a dozen of them when they first came out and they had been sitting in my collection, basically worthless, for almost 30 years. I love that they're selling for that much now.

Not sure what results of Usagi Yojimbo normally look like, but some good results of #1 today with the announcement of the Netflix series (and with Albedo #2 being a ghost)

Once your submission is older than 8 months and no longer show up under "My Submissions," is there still a way to check the grader notes for the books you submitted, without having to pay for the notes? I'm considering resubmitting some books that were never pressed but need to know what the notes were, for an older book.

Does the 10% and 15% discounts at the higher membership tiers apply to pressing services as well as grading? Trying to figure out what level makes sense as I'm planning on submitting a large number of books this year. What about the fee for rejects from pre-screening?

Neither Hulk 181 nor any of its various reprints, is the first appearance of Wolverine. Same with ASM361.

I think it only hurts the hobby when people think they have to buy something because it's going to be valuable, but turns out not to be. That's why I say buy what you like. Sure, tastes will change and you'll no longer be interested in holding something, but the joy of owning the item outweighs whatever feelings come from owning something because it's valuable.

Bothered? If you don't like them, don't buy them. Pretty simple.

I haven't read any Batman books in years. Dows HQ have a prominent primary antagonist? Could they be setting up Punchline to fill that role?

The first issue is heating up, as well as the last. There was a tease of the return of the Milestone characters by one of the creators recently. Seems like the prefect time for it. I do hope that if they bring back Statis, it's with the name and look. worked better than "Static Shock" I think (even if that's the name most will remember due to the show)
