  1. Was the series and mini-series event in the '90s the first time he headlined a book? I haven't watched Stargirl yet, but apparently there were hints of the Shade appearing? The James Robinson mini might be worth picking up.
  2. So… any thoughts on how the layoffs at DC are going to affect books going forward? https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/dc-comics-dc-universe-hit-by-major-layoffs-1306743
  3. Well, *I* have one, but that came from you (directly or indirectly, I don't remember)
  4. Disney+ should adapt that story. Would work great as a single-season show.
  5. "scarcity" is a factor in "supply" Age can be as well, potentially, but not necessarily
  6. Prices are based on what people are willing to pay, and that has everything to do with the supply and the demand.
  7. I've got a few of those as well. The Wolverine issue with the slur. There was a New Titans issues around the same time that had some sort of production issue (don't remember what it was exactly; the corrected version has a different color bullet). And an Invincible Iron Man issue with a production error. I think the corrected version is indistinguishable from the error, from the outside.
  8. But it's not the same. I could lay out a line of books that have slight variations in color, and the point at which the run changes from the "light" version to the "dark" version would be subjective. It's not subjective with something like a second print. There's a different barcode. Your source acknowledges there was no official notification to pull the books (i.e. there was no recall).
  9. It's quite different because we're talking about two distinct print runs. In the case of Marvel Point One (and every other book that went back to press for an additional printing), the first was in short supply, so it went back to press with a very distinct change/addition that separated it from the first printing. Also, I'd like to know what source you have that EOS was recalled.
  10. This. In any print run you're going to have slight variations in how heavy some colors are running. This isn't an error, it's just a variation (*not* a variant). Some people are willing to pay more. I don't see the point.
  11. The thing to watch with Valiant is whether they end up being bought out by a larger media company with a track record of producing quality movies and/or television. They're the third largest shared universe and Marvel and DC are never selling. If that happens, there are tons of first appearance outside of the obvious big players. Of course, most of Valiant falls into the "Modern" category as the ages are currently defines by most, but I think all of the original Valiant universe belongs in Copper.
  12. ^^^^^^ This. Countries that have had the most success in containing the virus have done so by paying people to stay home.
  13. I'm kicking myself for passing up a 2nd print in the back issue bin when I was looking for this book.
  14. Aren't Director's cuts basically reprints, some some additional bonus material?
  15. The other damage to the book suggest to me that the poor care of the book is probably what resulted in the change to the hologram as well. All of the cracked holograms, too, look like damage rather than some production error.
  16. Not a huge amount (or dollar total) of sales, but I'm noticing more eyeballs on the West Coast Avengers Vision Quest storyline since it was revealed that this is likely to be incorporated into the WandaVision series.
  17. Removing the color from scans of old books is a lot more difficult than it may seem, particularly in areas with darker colors. The linework is always going to look better in the original edition.
  18. When did this start to move again? Last time I checked on prices it was sitting in the $800 range and now it's around $900.
  19. Hulk 340 came out before Marvel was computer-coloring, so any reprint or digital edition would have been recolored (as I'm sure the original printing plates haven't survived). If they also had to scan a printed book for the linework (which is likely, if there aren't digital files avaialble), it could be that the detail in the area that is now "glistening" was hard to clean up, so dropping it out as they did was easier. I worked at a computer coloring place that re-colored some old Classics Illustrated books back in the 90s, and the process was rather tedious. I realized for the first time that this cover features something one does not normally see on covers; the tongues of two major characters, and neither one of them is Venom.
  20. I've seen a few articles since the announcement that Marvel would be publishing Aliens and Predator series suggesting that Batman vs. Predator is one of the best Batman stories that's been published. I'm guessing that's why. Some people are thinking it's a classic.
  21. A little off-topic, but did anyone else follow the Alien Loves Predator webcomic?
  22. This was a couple of years ago. They've been better with my last few shipments about actually trying to get a signature
