  1. Especially when the Marvel television and movie properties suggests that in a generation, many more people will be familiar with the Marvel characters than the DC characters.
  2. hu_721327 won an auction last Sunday. Hasn't paid and ignored two invoices sent.
  3. But not *just* for kids, if the copy in the UPC boxes from Direct DC books at the time is to be believed.
  4. As far as I can tell, none of Bad Idea's books are meant to be in a shared universe. (I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get from the descriptions of the books we know about so far.) So in that way, I don't think Defiant is going to be a proper analogy. My feeling is that this new line of books is going to be much more similar to current Image comics (again, from a company with connections to television and movie productions)
  5. I don't think CGC notes that advertisements are first appearances, but they might note something like "Contains advertisement for [new book], published prior to [book containing first appearance]"
  6. I would like a copy, but not at these prices. Since the story is being reprinted in Eniac #3, I'll wait to read it then.
  7. About a month ago or so. This was sort of a guerilla launch. A single copy was sent to a number of stores (I've heard about 150) with the request that they sell it, and with information on how to order more if they like it. No info that it was from Bad Idea. Apparently about 50 additional copies were ordered through the ordering info provided, and after the deadline to order the details of the book were revealed on Bad Idea's Twitter.
  8. I have zero interest in any project that puts money into the pockets of Comicsgate people, but you do you.
  9. I assume these comments are about The Hero Trade? I assume the cover (well, the logo, anyway) was intentionally made to look like some rando indy book from the '90s (as the logo is not well designed). This is the first (unofficial) book from Bad Idea, a new company that a lot of the people from the Valiant relaunch are involved in. This particular book is by Matt Kindt and Dave Lapham. So, first book from a new publisher that contains some first appearances. And apparently there are some cameos 1sts for some of the other titles to come snuck in here as well. Considering that a few of the people involved in the company also have tied to movie and television production, I would say there is a fair chance we'll see some of the titles developed into other media. They have some of the covers for coming titles on their instagram: https://www.instagram.com/badideahello/
  10. I know all about it. When Dinesh tweeted about it, I tried to get my hands on one.
  11. Crazy sales results for The Hero Trade. https://www.ebay.com/sch/Collectibles/1/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=10018-8481&_dmd=1&_ipg=200&LH_Complete=1&_fosrp=1&_nkw=the+hero+trade+bad+idea&_sop=16
  12. There are none on the census. I need to see if I have any 9.8 candidates.
  13. One dealer had a few of those Milestone previews, including a Wise Son. Someone has since snatched it up. I was considering grabbing it, but I think those things are too easy to duplicate, and are more of a curiosity. https://www.ebay.com/itm/WISE-SON-WHITE-WOLF-1-Black-and-White-Promo-1996-VF-NM-Preview-more-in-/402256523694?hash=item5da85b71ae%3Ag%3A87oAAOSwbRFetcoZ&nma=true&si=sYFZpAP8jgg2HhKdrZ3u8RpT1os%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. Since the conversation started regarding eBay sales, that's the market I was thinking of. And if we're talking individual books for sale, that's creating an additional 3000 listing to make $3000 more. $1/sale. I don't have minions or henchmen or kids; I'm doing all of the work for the books I sell.
  15. YMMV, but only netting an additional $3K for the all of the work of selling an additional 3K books doesn't seem worth it to me, if you value your time. If you get enjoyment out of that, then I suppose it's worth it, but I have better things to do with my time (like read my comics).
  16. Story has it that the Jim Lee cover for Valiant's H.A.R.D.Corps #1 was because someone at Valiant managed to snag Lee some tickets to see U2 at the time.
  17. Comichron numbers: Wise Son 1: 7488 Wise Son 2: 5720 Wise Son 3: 5070 Wise Son 4: 4413
  18. I bought 2 sets off of eBay just recently. I have them but haven't opened them to check condition yet. I previously had 1 & 3. I think I got those from Mile High. Just checked and they have 1 & 2 for $20 & $30 for NM
  19. Well, cat's out of the bag now I guess. I recently picked up the couple of issues I was missing, to complete my Milestone set. I had all of the Static, Icon, Hardware, and Blood Syndicate books because they were on my pull list until they ended, even though I hadn't been reading many comics at the time. Wise Son started very close to the end, and the Comichron numbers are tiny. If the entire Dakotaverse takes off, that one could end up really pricey.
  20. No, this is just the overflow thread when the original thread gets shut down because someone wasn't loved as a child.
  21. endlessink14 bid on and won a Hellblazer 1 slab. I waited three days for payment (the period specified in my auctions) without a payment being made or message being sent. Then I sent an invoice. Waited another 3 days; no contact. Sent the invoice again; no contact. Waited two more days and opened a non-paying case.
  22. I think this may be an undervalued mini in general. I would not be at all surprised if they use this story to introduce the X-Men. Think about it; if the current MCU is the pocket universe created by the Scarlet Witch, you could have mutants pop up who remember and they eventually "fix" the MCU to the way it "should" be; back to where the X-Men and Fantastic Four exist. It would be a chance to recast a lot of the characters from the first wave of movies as well.
  23. I don't know how rare it is, but has the Solson Christmas Special (Samurai Santa) been mentioned yet? Jim Lee's first published work. 3 on the census in 9.8. Black cover is tough.
