There can't be any question of going to the PL. The list is there for the benefit of aggrieved parties and for the benefit of the community. That part is cut and dry no matter if someone wants to attribute the behavior to any kind of personal issues.

That was after he went into excuse mode Correct. And after deleting posts and blocking all incoming PMs. More of an indication of covering your tracks than some sort of mistake.

The seller has given two reason as far I can tell. He didn't like the buyer asking for shipping to be included and then said he priced the book incorrectly.

Too much attention on this one to go quietly into the night until some finality occurs. There are only 2 outcomes, Cav will get this book or he won't. Once either occurs it will subside. TBH I wish the mods had not moved this from the sales forum... There is a third outcome. Seller pays Cav the difference in sales price (his additional profit), plus perhaps a penalty and/or interest and/or extra to cover the taxes (I think it would count as income to Cav and therefore be taxable technically). I think once the book is sold (paid for and shipped) to another buyer in good faith (assuming it was good faith), its pretty tough to compel that buyer to give the book back. I don't think it was confirmed he sold it to someone else.

I certainly appears the buyer will nominate him if he doesn't get his book.

I don't know if you all saw it but Jimbo did state in his now moved Sales Thread that he respected the advice of many people and was going to give it some thought. That was the last post in the thread I saw before it was shut down. He's thinking about how much money it might cost him down the road.

So the seller has no problem discussing a bunch of stuff no one asked about or has anything to do with the situation, but still hasn't answered questions that are actually important to what has happened. It's all back peddling and attempts to change the discussion. He might as well go on the probation list. Who the heck would buy from him now? Of course he should do the right thing and send the book, but that seems highly unlikely.

So he never mentioned to the buyer about the wrong price? Hardly backs up his claim.

So when exactly did you realize the pricing mistake?

He said that wasn't even the main reason for backing out. The problem is (not that the reason he gave isn't a problem already) is that what can he possibly come up with as a legit reason on top of that?

You simply say you are not covering shipping per the listing. This isn't going to help your cause.
