I have a 106 signed by Joe, but it's a 3.0. Still love that book though.

No way to sugar coat this . . . it sucks.
The C-1 designation means it is slight amateur work. You could consider having the glue professionally removed, but then it seems you will have a cover partially split or fully detached. In that case, the grade would likely be lower.
BUT, do not let this discourage you. We all have stories in the past like this. In my case, before I was able to spot restoration, I spent a couple thousand on a book that came back restored. Before I could fully understand grading, I bought VF books that came back VG. We all learn, but we still love the comics.
If you bought this in person, make sure it is a reputable dealer or someone you trust that will take a return. If buying online, again, research the vendor. Search these boards as most dealers have been discussed over and over and you will know who to trust and who not to. Of course, buying already slabbed will help avoid this situation, but even CGC sometimes makes mistakes.
BTW: there are several threads on how to spot restoration, read them. And, watch some videos on YouTube.
Good luck. In the meantime, crack it out, put it in a mylar and enjoy for years. Or, sell it and buy the next great comic for your collection.
I got the book online while I was deployed so I had no way seeing ahead of time. and i had it stored away from 17-20 (deployed again in 19-20, but didnt look at my books much in 2019 before I left). I can see the restro now that I really look at it. I'll more then likely sell it for a loss and use it to get something else I'd like. I'm not trying to track down this book as at the current state, its long out my range I can afford at the moment.

Its hard for low grade collectors like us to get books of this caliber in any grade. Don't be discouraged. Any copy of this book in 2.5-4.0 is worth about $500 or more in my opinion. Maybe you over paid a little but you have a copy now and that's the important thing. I paid almost $600 (with shipping and tax) for a 105 last year. They told me the centerfold was missing but that it did not interrupt the story. It did interrupt the story, missing about a half page of story. So I probably way over paid for that book. But I'm still glad I got a 105 with a cover. I thought for sure I'd have to settle for a coverless 105. I'm sure in a year or two our books will be worth more than what we paid for them. The important thing is that we have filled those important holes in our collections.
the grade isnt what bothers me, it was the restored factor that wasnt disclosed when I purchased it. I wouldnt have bought it had I known it was restored. I could have used that same amount and got a different copy.

So I bought this book in 2017 on a deployment for $500. Was so happy to get it as it was a book I had been after for years. I expected it to be a lower grade which is why I bought it( my flash collection is a low grade collection) i finally decided to send it in for grading last year. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to see the purple label and it honestly was the final straw that turned me away from collecting and buying book in general for the past year now.

#2 first prints and Raphael sell for big money. #3 and #4 seem affordable still. Perhaps it'd be worth buying these back now. It could help resolve regret some? Equilibrium restored and all that?
I hate to say it but i think the #2 first print is long out my price range. I regret selling the set but needed some money to help pay for my wedding. I was happy to at least get a chance to get another 2nd #1 and a copy in much better condition then i had before. My biggest regret outside of just selling it was I only got $500 for the whole lot.

2nd prints are already following the trend of the 1st prints from about 10 years ago. I remember reading posts on the boards where people were considering buying 1st prints for circa 2k. 2nd prints are now selling for circa 2k. It seems clear to me 2nd prints are going the way of 1st prints from 10 years ago and catching up fast!
I sold my raw low grad 2nd print in 2018 and and was lucky enough to find a graded 7.0 for $525 in 2019 that had a broken case. Had it recased last year and was the best thing I could have done. I had regretted selling my raw copy when i had. Though I sold it with a raw 1st #2, an 8.0 1st #3, a raw 1st #4 and a raw 1st Raph one shot that i wish i still all had right now.

Just got this picture back and my 123 is cleaned and pressed. It’ll be sent off tomorrow cgc tomorrow. Really hope this comes back in the 3.0-4.5 range but I honestly don’t know. Just need the top staple to hold on and for the bottom split to not be as bad as I thought. He said it looks nice post cleaning so I’m hopefully

Thanks, it's something I'm very proud to have put together. They're not all in the best of conditions but to have that run in order (and will eventually continue to 140; which i have issues here and there between this picture and 140) is something that has been a collecting goal of mine. There are issues I've bought around the world, at conventions in England. trips i've taken across england to go to london and purchase in person (cough 105 cough) but I love it. My next plan is to cross over my 110 and 139 from cbcs to cgc. Hoping the 110 holds at 4.0 and my 139 is either a 3.0 or 3.5, can't remember havent looked at it in over a year haha.
