  1. Hmmm...at the risk of offending I think I would have to take an Ashley Graham-style model over a toy model. Definitely a few more advantages, from the G-rated to the R...
  2. Bad comic book films are tiring (eg. Eternals). Good comic book films are not (eg. Spider-Man: No Way Home). In any medium, if the final product is quality, there's no issue.
  3. Ah, my girlfriend Danger Girl. Her Ruby look is a drawcard for serious collectors/investors. The only non-Marvel issue in the Top 5, also includes ASM #667 and newcomer Silver Surfer Black #2 (Sketch).
  4. I think this gem deserves a mention as only 25 copies: https://recalledcomics.com/SilverSurferBlack2Camuncoli.php

  7. A rare gem that will appreciate with time. $1800 + $20 shipping (one selling on Ebay for $2500 at present). Happy to field questions.
  8. True! Another interesting read that I'd like to see resurrected was Epic Illustrated. The beginnings of Dreadstar, some Silver Surfer stories and interesting one-off tales (check out "Worker In The City" by Archie Goodwin in #3).
  9. Well, I checked and Fett is right. MS #1 featuring Red Wolf is now almost a 2K item. Live long enough and you get to see everything.
  10. Perhaps I should start buying up all the first appearances of Red Wolf and Omega The Unknown...
  11. There are some, certainly. I enjoyed Planetary, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Simonson's more Nordic Thor. These however, are exceptions rather than the rule.
  12. I'm speculating, but I believe at least some of the craze is due to the fact that younger readers simply don't know the history. Therefore, they can't tell diamond from zircon.
  13. People obviously don't know that Avengers #232 was from a very low period in the title's history. One of the many comics that were practically worthless, and will be again once the dust has settled. Iron Man #55 is the better buy.
  14. Huh. Good thing I won't die. So long as my Herald continues to find planets to sustain me, all those 9.8 W gems can remain in my collection indefinitely.
  15. I think you'll find this film will take it's time, as the world at large is still coping with the aftermath of the Infinity War (which Ajak and Ikaris are discussing in the trailer). To judge from clips thus far, the Eternals appear to be dealing exclusively with the Deviant threat and possibly their Celestial masters, as I'm guessing they have developed a strong affinity with Earth. I think the four cosmic "snaps" (courtesy of the Infinity Gauntlet) will be a macguffin for future films. Rocket himself stated this released a tremendous amount of energy, which was probably a beacon for the Marvel Cosmics. If the Silver Surfer was looking for a hint of a suitable world in this galaxy for his master, this would be it.
  16. BINGO! I would wager that this is the feeling for most mature age collectors/investors who read comics in past decades. I can safely say that the halcyon days of Alpha Flight (Byrne), Daredevil (MIller), Thor (Simonson) and X-Men (Claremont/Byrne/Austin) are long gone and will never come again. Starlin lasted longer than most (a la Thanos). I tried to read a completely unnecessary retelling of the Avengers' origin and it was flat out boring. A few attempts at reading Spider-Man showed me that the art of writing Peter Parker appears to have been lost. These days I only collect comics as investment items for eventual resale. Ours is now a cover sport, largely dictated by the grade.
  17. I remember reading a story about a farmer who listens to a voice coming from an old well. In the end the drunken and disillusioned farmer jumps into the well, only to find the source of the voice to be a giant fanged frog. I think it made the cover of one of the titles, but it may have been a reprint. I also recall another short but good story about a vampire ice hockey player, who scores despite it costing him his life. Does anyone know these stories?
  18. I think someone is kidding themselves - not even a white copy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/113756417091?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5336908832&toolid=10001&customid=21479X795624X7ddb6ddccfff4a4d1775c568d401d445
