  1. True. How hard depends on one's circumstances. Selling for a living is tough. I have a friend in this situation, and while he does well it is hard work and he can't turn his back on the business for even a day. For some (like myself) it is simply a hobby to tune into when the mood suits.
  2. fbs, I agree. It is just one of those great unknowns. Whilst I believe there is a likely scenario (given the value of the item) , I concede it is speculation.
  3. True. Perhaps a section for error editions worth big dollars (another example being the White Venom cover).
  4. You need a Miscellaneous section for ultra-rare variants that command top prices. Other examples are the Bloodshot #0 in Platinum and The Maxx Ashcans.
  5. With all due respect to Jay, I have to agree. There are 63 copies on the census, the highest being 9.8 and the lowest 7.0. A figure of 225 is at odds with this. If there truly were that many copies, more would been graded by now. I beileve it is POSSIBLE there may still be a few unslabbed copies in existence, but not - given current market value - 162. Other thoughts?
  6. And here's a second credible article about SSB #2: https://bleedingcool.com/comics/marvel-comics-rarest-silver-surfer-black-2-true-believers-variant-limited-to-25-at-san-diego-comic-con/ It is rarer than many comics on your list (25 copies only) and there are recorded sales. A 9.8 is already worth more than some in your Top Ten.
  7. Who cares? Someone mentioned GOW and I thought they might like it.
  8. The B & W version is very rare, with almost no copies in 9.8. Hence the lack of data.
  9. Newcomer. https://recalledcomics.com/SilverSurferBlack2Camuncoli.php
  10. Talking God of War, a nice tribute cover in the Marvel style: https://images.app.goo.gl/Dg1Cfstpp7RucYb79
  11. Good question. I liked the original comic adaption (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_of_War_(DC_Comics)) for the story, despite weak art. I think there will be a small flutter as a tremendously popular video game series, and if they release some rare variant (and there is scope for this given the strength of the franchise) then it will take off. I could see one of those 1:50 retailer situations working here.
  12. I believe there will be a small one. The market is tough at present, and people are getting more savvy about what they want and how much they can spend. As you can readily purchase a Gem Mint copy (10.0), most people will consider the potential resale value. That said, if you simply want to own a Gem Mint copy to collect as it is your favourite video game, go with my blessing.
  13. Yes. It depends on what you are comfortable with. I gravitate to the higher end of the spectrum, as usually less labour intensive with a high return. That's me (and I certainly wasn't mocking the other approach - simply making an observation).
  14. You don't think that this is a tad immature? I'm also not touting anything. I seem to recall some backlash about variants such as ASM #667 (I also wasn't part of that discussion), but if they are mentioned, so what? It's a message board.
  15. Just a statement of fact, friend. Trying to sell multiples of something (with no disrespect to ChasenBlue at all) for a small return is usually more work than waiting and selling one rare variant, yes? And I believe this thread was once all about items that significantly increase, as opposed to small increments. If soneone finds a small jump notable, so be it. Items like that just don't bring the big returns.
  16. An extra $40 is very minimal. Even if you have 20 copies it is agreat deal of time money and energy. I purchased a number of variants I resold for thousands more, because they featured a popular character, and were ("tah dah") rare.
  17. Not at all. Some are truly rare and in demand. The aforementioned issues, however, are more supply than demand.
  18. Unfortunately it is meaningless - the market is flooded with high grade copies.
  19. What "worthless" item (s) are you referring to? Variants?
  20. The discussion has moved on. Note the posts afterward.
  21. Yes, I think some people got carried away. I have a number of rare variants, but always look at it from a resale perspective. I snapped up an ASM #678 in 9.8 about 5 years ago, as I knew it would be a winner. I passed on the ASM #700 Martin as while complete with a great cover, it has no half life. I did however purchase the Silver Surfer Black #2 Camuncoli Sketch Variant cover as ultra-rare in 9.8 and the SS will eventually appear in the MCU. And so on.
  22. I'm pleased that it is good news for you. On the issue of rare variants, some are reappearing on Ebay. Whether people will pay or sit and watch the item for months is another question.
  23. OK. When you say "best month", is that for the high-end variants I was referring to?
