It is sounding like Ms. Marvel was the big hit in this movie. Good on that actress.

    If so, that's good.

The thing that repels me from anything with Brie Larson is Brie Larson. Can't stand her. It's visceral.

I get the same repulsion from anything featuring Kevin Costner, Jack Black or Pete Davidson.

Some actors just turn my stomach. Brie Larson is one.

  2. "guy power" at the expense of and putting down of women today is called "toxic masculinity". But I don't remember see much of that in the pre-Endgame MCU movies.

"girl power" at the expense of and putting down of men today is called "female empowerment". Seems one can't avoid slamming into this a lot in Disney & post-Endgame MCU. Haven't seen The Marvels though, so the jury is out.

  3. 7 points, another mediocre performance. meh

But nowhere near as bad as the last round though! That round sunk me good!

I think I've seen all the mid-grade GA books I ever want to see... er, on second thought, that's not quite true - it's just all the midgrade GA books IN A GRADING CONTEST that I ever want to see again LOL!

    Hello all :)

I'm just testing cut and paste tagging here. I've added all the original 109 participants, so don't worry if you have dropped out of the contest, or have already submitted your R3 grades.

There was a little confusion at the start of the thread as to the deadline for your R3 submissions - it is:

:news:   Tuesday October 31, 8:00 PM Eastern time    :news:

Remember - the earlier you get your grades in, the easier it is for @CGC Mike to collate them.

    Good luck!

These are the ASM issues that I cracked out.

Im downsizing my graded book collection and trying to go about 90% raw.

None of these books came out after 1986.

They all should have had micro chamber paper.  (tsk)

Im guessing my 194, 252 and 238 probably dont have micro chamber paper either, based on these results.

    Thats not good.

    Terrible.

How long ago were they slabbed?

It's a little hard to say without comparing the appearance of the front cover of this book with the $125 copy, BUT there's also what I think of as a "hassle tax" if you have to have it reholdered in addition to the extra cost.  That slab has been abused - I suppose it's possible there's damage to the book you may not be able to see.  If the $125 book looks as good as this one, I'd say it's the clear choice.

    ^^^ Agree as well.

Not just the cost and time waiting to reholder, but the additional risk of damage you are taking on by having to reholder it.
