  1. there is a lot of really nice art available, including a significant number of pieces I haven't seen offered before. I do see some CRAZY prices, but hey, if its yours, you can ask for whatever you want.  (What is kind of annoying is seeing some retread pieces that have been listed in every single CAF Live, posted again with even higher prices)

**Disclosure: For the first time I posted some art for sale on CAF Live. Sold one page within the first hour, and had inquiries about some others. So already I consider the event a success.**

I saw one or two moderately-priced pieces I really like, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pull the trigger. Let's see what pops up tomorrow.

  2.

    1. Write down a list of books you're looking for. Any convention can be overwhelming due to all the choices, but for your first, I'd recommend making a list and trying to stick to it. Will keep you from overspending.

    2. Give the convention floor a walkthrough before you make your first purchase. The first dealer you encounter may have higher prices than someone in another part of the floor. Shop around and compare prices.

    3. Know your budget and stick to it!

    4. Go dumpster diving in the bargain bins! you may find something cool for peanuts.

    5. Always easier to negotiate with cash than credit cards/PayPal, etc. so hit the bank before you go.

    6. If it's a multi-day Con, go on the last day. Lots of dealers are more willing to wheel & deal then -- who wants to pack up everything for the ride home?

     7. Enjoy it! Cons are the best....

Recent acquisition, Laff page with Elroy Jetson.

Noticing this may be situation where Original 1-of-A-Kind Comic Art may cost less than the comic book in high grade

Hats off to Heritage's packaging. I recently got a shipment from them that looked as if it had been totally submerged underwater (it was raining heavily that day). I mean, it was so bad that huge chunks of the box were literally peeling off and water/moisture was getting all over the inside. But, it was packaged so well on the inside that the art was unharmed.

I had an issue with a recent purchase from Heritage where poor shipping led to a nice raw copy of Hawkman #4 getting wrecked. However, all of my OA purchases have always shown up incredibly well-protected.

I won this cover in the previous auction. I cancelled after I found out that the Banning inks we're done after publication. Commissioned inks over original pencils. I'm kind of surprised they didn't list that in the description this time around. It's a great cover. I just couldn't past the inks weren't done pre-production.

That's a fairly significant oversight on CLink's part. I would've cancelled as well.

Really excited to share Marvel Secret Wars II Promotional Poster Art featuring The Beyonder vs. 70+ Marvel super-heroes by Ron Wilson.  Back in 1985, the poster adorned the walls of comic stores and Marvel fans including mine! Drawn on a huge piece of illustration board with an image area of 22" x 34"!

Great piece, Dino! I remember this poster. Incredible how many heroes Wilson fit into this image. Also, I noticed ROM was erased from the printed poster. Was that around the time Marvel lost the rights to the character?

  8. I know some of the higher end pieces at the beginning of the auction may have "underperformed," but it sure looked like prices for mid-range art were really strong.

i was quite happy with the results my 2 consigned pieces brought in. Also was good to see that demand for DC Style Guide pieces by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez remains quite high.

a few of his pieces went for comparative bargains during weekly auctions. but the Batgirl and supergirl examples in this auction did very well.
