Heres one to derail this thread..anyone ever done a google search on a comic book and found their own posts from these boards? Cracked me up.

BEAT THAT! Cool story, I like that one!

Living in Upstate NY it was very common for me to recognize many of the locales depicted therein as having a least visited. Staten Island,Westchester etc... Probably the most memorable was issue #12 of G.I. Joe Special Missions that took off from an airfield in my region. I remember reading it and just having my mind blown as panel after panel showed places nearby my home town that I visit regularly. The Accord speedway, the Mohonk Moutain house and fire tower. I still regularly pass through the Shawangunk Mountain range for my job. The were too many places to recall but all were in the Hudson River Valley were I have lived most of my life. I really had a laugh when I read that one. Not my home town but pretty close.

Westchester is one word. It is just north of NYC so not sure if it counts. It is upscale just like in the X-men comics.

It is reassuring to know that my copy is safe. I have read on a few different sites about other fans feelings on the issue and they are mixed. I know that Snake-Eyes has been around for a long time and is a crucial character. I guess if it has to happen that way then I would like to see G.I. Joe comics continue to grow and evolve. G.I. Joe is a great story but I hope it is not the end of the property altogether as we know it. I hope G.I. Joe comics are around for a long time to come. The storytelling truly inspires me in my everyday life. I have also heard talk of a third major movie, but enthusiasm amongst the fan base seems lackluster and skeptical. I am coming to the realization myself that G.I. Joe will not likely get its due respect in my life time. I am a little saddened by this because it had such potential. I do not think it is too far of a leap but just look what Hasbro/Marvel-Michael Bay/ Paramount did with the Transformers. I think those are great movies but it had to come about in its time. G.I. Joe however is long over due to the point that expecting it to be a major motion picture franchise is a stagnant wait. It is too bad. I liked the second film alot. Too bad it couldn't take off from there as there are infinite directions it could go.

My update from about 3 pages ago would be around 1000 plus 10 slabs. I have bought about 500 comics in the last 3 years which about doubled my size from the preceding 15 years or so. That's 3 super stuffed long boxes plus a short box.

As far as I have seen the final issue of the "Death of Snake-eyes" trilogy is shipping around May 20 2015. I have never been one to follow hype but I want to make sure I do not miss out because I see myself wanting one sooner or later. I pre-ordered a copy. I was hoping some of the other Joe fans here could fill me in whether they think its going to sell out. What I mean is , am I safe, or is my order going to get bumped. I do not have regular monthly pull list with any comic shops so I realize I would probably be the first to get left out in the cold with this one. What's the demand going to be on this one? High , low , somewhere in the middle? I am just looking for a reading copy.

Man, I bet those are very rare! ..and hard to come by.

Recently I have been enjoying the 60 or so issues of Devil's Due Press G.I.Joe that I acquired not too long ago. Just curious if anyone else is signed on to YOJOE.com. I have been using the comic book database there to help me keep track of the best order to read them in. Looking at the list I probably want to finalize with the reboot/continuation of the original series , the ongoing title that Larry Hama is in charge of right now. Hopefully by the end of this year. Through reading I can see that the title has had many creators in its different iterations. In terms of the overall continuity though Josh Blaylock is the only one post-Marvel who can hold a candle to Hama. It says that he was a collector and fan growing up in some of the letter columns. Maybe that's why he seems so true to the core. The other writing is fun to read but I just cannot make sense of some of it. Still however I am in the phase of "if it says G.I. Joe on the cover , I want it". Hoping to break out soon.

Transformers are cool. IDW seems to be doing an excellent job at establishing a continuity with all of the past Marvel properties it now owns.

What issues? I have found that it is futile to focus on anything except 1 or 2 main titles.

Series runs are fun. I do like to complete runs. I have been putting together GIJoe series for the last year or 2. I probably have the last 6 series runs for the title.(1-155,1-28 etc...) I go for first prints and although I am not a condition hound I believe the variants will rot a person brain. So that's where I draw the line. My other series run of which to speak is Uncanny X-men 200-400. I have every issue plus a few stragglers on either end. I suppose I could include my Jim Lee X-Men with issues 1-22. I guess one day I will get back to filling in more X-Men on either end, maybe 50 issue runs 10 books at time or so. Although it gets very expensive the further back I go, so I am not sure where I would stop. Once I get a run it's part of the concrete and I never let it go.

Never got into airsoft or paintball and my figurine collecting is long since past tense. I prefer to focus on something I understand a little better, plus I really, really love comic books. Very , very cool idea however using figures for your airsoft set-up. I hear that's dangerous,be careful!

Well worth the time the time to read. In the last 6 months I have re-read for possibly the 100th time GI Joe 1-155, Special Missions 1-28, Yearbooks 1-4, Origins 1-23, Cobra+CobraII, Frontline 1-18, America's Elite #0-36. I think thats it so far. However I recently picked up all of the DDP Declassified issues including Master and Apprentice, #1-4, Master and apprentice 2, #1-4, GI Joe Reborn #1, Cobra Reborn #1, Reloaded #1-14,SIGMA 6, #1-6, Snake eyes Declassified #1-6.... GI Joe Declassified, #1-3, Scarlett Declassified , Dreadnoks Declassified #1-3, Storm ShadowDeclassified #1-7, Special Missions one shots."I WANT YOU FOR COBRA"....."Antarctica ,Brazil ,Tokyo... GI Joe vs. Transformers #1-5... All of which I will begin reading shortly as well. Good Luck!

At a lost at what is funny about Billy being beside Cobra Commander. He is Cobra Commanders son. Perhaps you would not be so at a lost Whisp if you read ARAH issue #33. It might help you to appreciate the humor I find in such bitter irony.
