  1. Thanks for putting this together, Flex. Thanks to all the contributors. These are the kinds of things that make the boards a special place, full of special and generous people.
  2. I think that decimal point needs to be moved. $7.00.
  3. Thank you, for making these books available at very fair prices. Glad I was able to "take" a few. I already have a copy of TEC #322, so please pass that "freebie" on to the next smart shopper.
  4. Well, this thread definitely needs a bump for an awesome boardie. As such, I will TAKE the following TECs.... 324, 329, 331, 345, and 348.
  5. Congratulations!!!! Great job on an awesome run. I would enjoy reading more about the quest/hunt. Those days before the Internet when we ordered from paper catalogs, listed alternates, and waited to see what came in the mail.
  6. Even in 1987, that AC1 must have been in rough shape for $1500. Still a bargain in any condition, however. Wish I had seen it.
  7. When I first read this quickly on my phone (due to the space between the 1 and the 36), I thought I had missed out on a Superboy 1. I think my heart skipped a beat in despair I went back through the thread to see where it was and finally figured out it was a 136.
  8. Glad this worked out for you, Todd. I respect that you did not want to "out" the seller, that you spoke of the other book you purchased coming back an 8.5 (as assigned) and that you let everyone know that the seller did make this transaction "right". You have always been and continue to be an outstanding "Boardie".
  9. Thanks Bob, I think back in the days before internet, things were different. A LCS like this may have had dozens of kids, walking in and willing to fork out the cash needed for a New Teen Titans #1, but finding a buyer for a high grade Action #101, was perhaps a little more difficult. If the right buyer didn't walk in the door, a LCS could sit on a higher end book for a long time, thus the trade probably made sense to him (as he likely quickly sold the NTT books). Now, with all the auction sites and internet, a LCS can easily liquidate even the most expensive with very little time and effort. I miss the old days!
  10. If I remember correctly, the first comic I ever "hoarded" was New Teen Titans #1. When this book came out, I bought all the copies I could find; which I believe was 8 copies. Although I usually never sell any comics, I did find myself in my LCS a few years later and the owner was looking for copies of NTT #1. I think I ended up trading him 5 copies of #1 and maybe one copy of one of the later issues in exchange for the following book (plus I may have also received another less impressive Action in the deal - but I can't recall what that was).
  11. This sounds very much like the Mile High strategy of pricing their comics. This is of course only my opinion. Year after year, Chuck seems to stay in business, regardless of his pricing. How he stays in business is always a topic that confuses me, when the product he offers can often be easily obtained on other web sites. In the case of OA, however, I assume unique pieces can be priced at whatever one wants, since there is no chance of a buyer obtaining the same piece elsewhere.
  12. I recall you posting a photo of your feet in one of your sales threads so maybe you could just go without shoes and everyone could just match the photo to your feet. Just a thought.
  13. Eddie and the Cruisers was a great movie. The first car I ever owned was a 57 Chevy Bel Air (although that one was a 2 door hard top).
  14. Yes sir, that is my 57 Chevy Bel Air (although because the avatar is a square picture, it looks kind of squished and not in proper proportion). I really enjoy old cars (including that classic you have). Here is a better photo....
