  1. Way to go, Dave! Congrats on 10 years. Don't worry about your early "noob" mistake. I messed up on one of my first posts (asking about a company that shall remain nameless) and was quickly told that some things are NOT to be discussed here on the CGC board. I quickly asked the mods to delete my thread pardon my transgression. Since then, I have learned a lot on these boards and met a lot of great people. I hope one day to have 10 years under my belt like a you!
  2. This is one of two books my wife bought me for Christmas. I have not taken a photo of the other yet. Also received a few other books (not yet photographed).
  3. I am curious if someone "notified" them on your listings for some reason (an ax to grind or whatever). You simply saying, "Everyone else is doing it" may not be enough to get eBay to act equitably. This is NOT to say that I agree with them not applying the rules equally (if this is in fact the case). Hope you can get your books sold. I saw them on the for sale thread and they are high grade.
  4. Look at the second photo. You can see most of the title "Famous First Edition". This is a reprint. Hope this helps.
  5. Good luck with this one, Peter. I have found that William NEVER sleeps.
  6. Cannot believe I missed this one. Great buy! Doesn't exactly fit with the title of the thread.
  7. I can certainly see your point from both an economic and a convenience way of looking at this. On the other hand, I think there is a certain "thrill" some collector's receive from actually getting the books signed themselves and meeting their "hero" in person. I don't personally like signed books, however, I can understand how other are attracted to them. I have had other things signed (movie -script and things like that, which do not have artwork) If I were to get a book signed, I would want it to be on the inside. Everyone has different tastes and each collection shows the personality of the collector. So for each person, having a book signed is an individual choice. To sign or not to sign. To have it signed in person (as I would prefer and have done with things like a movie -script) or to save the hassle and buy it already signed (and hope the signature is legit). To sign on the cover or inside. To sign a high grade book or a lower grade. To sign a high dollar key or something less desirable. I am thankful that people are different and so are their choices. This makes collecting fun and interesting.
  8. It is difficult for me to imagine that IF someone could afford to buy this book, that they would have trouble coming up with the deposit for a house. Just my thoughts.
  9. Wish I had seen that MM3. I often miss those Sunday night auctions. Oh well, guess someone else gets a Christmas blessing.
  10. Does Mile High sell ANY of their wall books? I thought Chuck's policy was to raise prices to be point that books stopped selling.
  11. All good questions. Wish I had better answers. All I know is that I love the simplicity of the cover and large characters. I was very pleased and surprised, this morning, when I opened the package from my wife and saw this classic.
  12. Looks to me like Lois is not happy that she needs to use a hammer to defrost the icebox and Siperman is showing off that he can do it with his little finger.
  13. It is not about quantity, but rather quality. I appreciate the quality posts you provide. Congrats on 1,000!
  14. Did someone seriously hit the button on your post???
  15. Well Santa didn't bring me the two books I requested above, however, I am very happy that my wife picked this one up for me....
  16. Looks like a very Merry Christmas for me. Not only am I very blessed in many ways, but my wife surprised me with this today....
  17. Congrats on 1,000 Posts! What a way to celebrate the mile stone! Nice job!
  18. It is now officially after midnight here on the East Coast. Just wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas!!!!!
  19. Santa, Perhaps if you feel I have been extremely good this year, you won't mind climbing down my chimney with a few comics. I was thinking maybe an Action 1 and a Suspense 3. I know this would likely require me to be on the extremely good list, so perhaps you could overlook a few (okay many) of my failings. If these two books are too much (given my questionable behavior), then perhaps you could be persuaded to get your elves to dig up either one of the two for me. As for condition, I don't care if it looks like you dragged it through the chimney ash, I just want any copy you have in your magic bag. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration in this very important matter.
