  1. Yep - a full CGC 9.8 blue label set of MM #1-24 plus the 3-D special won't even get you in the top 5. Yeah you wont even beat mschmidt's reserve set and it's not even complete! This is a hard set to compete in unless you have nearly all the set in S/S and a 9.9 as well
  2. Yep, that's mine. Here's a pic of it slabbed as well as some others from my collection. MM 15 Collection Really fantastic signed set.
  3. Yeah really pleased with it but it was in fantastic condition already when I bought it from you so no real surprise with the grade. It is lacking description: the label should mention Miracleman #15 and, at the very least, the John Totleben cover art. No idea when Eclipse Extra finished: Mile High lists up to #46, comicspriceguide.com list up to #55 but mycomicshop.com lists up to #76. Looking at auctions, #55 was the largest number I could find. Update: comiccollectorlive.com lists it as 1985-1991 (76 Issues) but not sure how reliable that is.
  4. I won mine on ebay from EwanUK and paid using a very rare Warrior badge!! I think the other one on the Census is an 8.0 sketched and signed by Totleben: Picture courtesy of Mr Henn (from the JOHN TOTLEBEN s/s OP #2 thread):-
  5. That reminds me...meant to post this:- ....
  6. Ah, someone has kindly mapped the issues out on the Comic Book DB: Miracleman (1985) - #1 "Rebirth"; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #1 Warrior (1982) #2 Warrior (1982) #3 Miracleman (1985) - #2 "When Gods Cry War..."; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #5 Warrior (1982) #6 Warrior (1982) #7 Warrior (1982) #8 Miracleman (1985) - #3 "Out of the Dark"; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #9 Warrior (1982) #10 Warrior (1982) #11 Miracleman (1985) - #4 "Catgames"; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #13 Warrior (1982) #14 Warrior (1982) #15 Warrior (1982) #17 Miracleman (1985) - #5 "The Approaching Light"; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #16 Warrior (1982) #17 Warrior (1982) #18 Warrior (1982) #20 Miracleman (1985) - #6 "...And Every Dog Its Day!"; Reprints/Collects: Warrior (1982) #12 Warrior (1982) #21 Miracleman 3-D (1985) - #1; Reprints/Collects: Marvelman Special (1984) #1
  7. Yes correct but just issues #1-6 and the 3D #1 contain the Marvelman re-prints:- Warrior was an anthology comic and the Marvelman strips were fairly short. Marvelman ceased to be published in Warrior issue #21 after the threat of legal action from Marvel after the production of the Marvelman Special in the UK (which featured re-printed Mick Angelo 1950's stories with a short Alan Moore / Alan Davis framing story, all reprinted in Miracleman 3D #1). Eclipse re-printed 3 or 4 Warrior Marvelman strips per Miracleman comic and the entire Warrior Marvelman run was re-printed by issue #6 of Miracleman with the appearance of Marveldog and I believe they then ran out of unpublished Marvelman material by the end of #7. Miracleman #8 was more 1950's re-prints but from Miracleman #9 the material was new and I believe Alan Moore was contracted to Eclipse directly during this time up to issue #16 when Gaiman took over writing duties.
  8. I did have a cheeky bid and I was winning for a while but it went for more than twice that amount Does anyone have it? - Chipmaker may be able to tell us (if the buyer is ok with us knowing of course )
  9. Correct: Warrior #4 contained a Marvelman story set in the future (not the same timeline as the ongoing Marvelman story) and this was not reprinted in the Eclipse Miracleman books.
  10. Man. That is some hardcore collecting there. http://www.jamesonuk.com/miracleman/ That stuff is mostly pictures trawled from the great internet ocean and I guess you know the Marvel covers don't actually exist, except in bits and bytes. I do own a couple of those items though and I'm sure I've also eaten a sausage roll from the pasty shop (or more likely Greggs)
  11. Here's a copy: Warrior #4 (Summer Special) 1982 Page 4 onwards
  12. I recently completed a second transaction with Bruce and, as always, he is very courteous, reasonable and generally great to deal with (and he also has some really nice rare s/s comic books)! His packing is, as usual, bullet-proof so there is no chance of any damage to the CGC comics in the central core (lots of different layers for cushioning and protection). Shipping was fast and he kept in touch after dispatch to ensure the comic books all arrived safely. Many thanks once again Bruce.
  13. Bruce is a top quality international seller. I bought two top s/s books from Bruce in April and the transaction was hassle free, great communication, he dispatched the books very quickly, provided a tracking number and best of all they were really really securely packaged. Really pleased with the comics and we already have another transaction in progress! Many thanks Bruce
  14. I have two.... I imagine $30 is how much you'd sell me one for? My other one is with CGC now, price will depend on grade but let me see, only 1-1.5% were UK variants...there's the international shipping, the Canadian import duties and the Miracleman tax (taking prized assets out of the UK)...shall we say $123,012 ?
  15. I managed to the get to the New Cross shop before it shut down and bought a few bits and bobs, I think that included a couple of Warrior badges, some Warrior comics to plug a couple of gaps and a Daredevils #7, which I sold over a decade ago for peanuts - I think it was to Ewan (and it was minty mint). I used to love visiting London: I think I managed to visit all the comic shops in a day (and there were quite a lot back then - I'm sure I still have the old A-Z somewhere with them all marked out).
  16. Needidea, do you own the OA for this series? Unfortunately not but I do have the full set of Warrior comics (including the 1996 special) and a digital download of the anthology #1-26.
  17. The debut of Alan Moore's new, darker Marvelman in Warrior #1. The debut of Alan Moore and David Lloyd's V for Vendetta in Warrior #1. Justice League of America #200: 76-page anniversary issue, "A League Divided". The double-sized issue was a "jam" featuring a story written by Gerry Conway, a framing sequence drawn by George Pérez, and chapters drawn by Pat Broderick, Jim Aparo, Giordano, Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, Brian Bolland, and Joe Kubert. Bolland's chapter gave the artist his "first stab at drawing Batman." DC's horror-suspense anthology Secrets of Haunted House ceases publication with issue #46. Flash Gordon (1966 series), with issue #37, is cancelled by the Gold Key Comics imprint Whitman Comics. Underground cartoonist Dave Sheridan dies at age 39. March 27: Britain's weekly Eagle comic relaunched by IPC Media in a mostly photonovel format. I'm thinking you are leaning towards the Warrior #1 publication. Of course there was a transition into comedy in August 1983 but this was just some light relief from the 80's dystopia.
  18. Wow 16 x 9.8 Miracleman books for $766
  19. If you believe in a Copper Age then it really has to start in March 1982, no transition just straight in there, but then again I am bias
  20. I believe the UK edition print run was around 1,500 copies but this is a middle figure and could be out by a few hundred either way. Quite rare compared to the international edition and maybe one to collect! Where have you got that figure from pls? I'd really like to know this for definite. 1,500 seems on the low side considering how hyped the book was at the time. However, I know Titan imported a lot of the US versions at the time. sorry to be dim, where is that quote from? who is "an insider" this sounds like Dez? If this is correct then the no.1 UK is a very scarce book in comparison Not directly from Dez but someone who works with him (didn't want to publish the name as quote was from a private email).
  21. There are two CGC 9.9's now; one went for $2,000 and one for almost $3,000 pretty good guess then! how can there SUDDENLY be 2 9.9s so are there 4 now? haven't checked for a while - two no.15s, no.12 and no.17? Indeed 4 x 9.9; two are in CGC sets (the other two, your old one and the other #15 are not in sets at this moment although a couple of sets are obscured).
  22. Really nice, got mine back but they will have to go back to CGC as they all arrived with some corner damage, including one with a fair sized crack I'm sure they don't pack those smaller boxes tight enough.
