  1. I'm a sucker and grabbed two copies of the polybagged variant. One to open, one to keep forever entombed in its worthless polybag
  2. I've been picking up his stuff frequently lately, as well. I kind of agree on the similarity issues between female characters, but that hasn't stopped the art from being amazing. He along with Parrillo are two that I just grab as often as I can. Also, can we make it a thing that when examples of work are posted we also post the title and issue number just in case it's not obvious?
  3. I know cgc grades each cover, but only the highest graded cover applies to the overall grade of the comic even if that cover isn't the outermost cover? Is that correct?
  4. They didn't exactly say they needed to sell it quick, just that they needed to sell it. It comes across as legit. Good luck to anyone with the funds who goes and takes a look. Pretty confident it won't take long to sort out whether its baloney or not
  5. I guess we are getting pretty far off topic now, but when does a new comic become a back issue? And I think the tax only applies if the shop puts it on the shelf with the new periodicals? Comics in back issue bins aren't subject to the tax? Is that completely wrong? What are laws even...
  6. I was told that if the price is marked up on new periodicals, then they get taxed differently or something? Obviously this is a pittance if the book is marked up from cover to twenty bucks. Maybe it's just NYC or NY State tax rules? Also, no the shop cannot hand over comics before Wednesday. I assume 12:01 a.m. counts since Midtown Comics has their midnight release parties once in a while.
  7. My grandma used to take us cousins around looking for old bottles. We found tons. She discovered a bunch of really old dumps, like from the late 19th century, that were basically just out in the woods by the time we came along and we'd go through there like proper archaeologists. Good times.
  8. Yep they are sold out now too, crazy. Glad I got one. Wasn't going to pay ebay prices for it, but definitely wanted one.
  9. Just got back from my local and they had two copies. They still have the second copy. Might order a 2nd at MCS though, thx for the heads up.
  10. yeah hopefully they don't show up on their website for 10x cover price tomorrow :P
  11. No go. got there at around 9:30 this morning and they were sold out in all three locations. Le sigh
  12. that's nuts. I'm going straight to Midtown tomorrow to get my copy. I assume they'll have it as 1 per, at least I really hope they do now.
  13. Dear Grantley, stop derailing this otherwise hilarious thread with your personal comedic issues.
  14. They really have done a good job with them so far. The art has been very nice and the presentation is clean
  15. I loved it. What a blast of a film! I'm not sure how anyone can say its not needed to watch at least a few of the movies leading up to this. Other than going deeper into Thanos, there was almost no recapping or back story for any other characters. It was start to finish a slugfest. If someone isn't familiar with the other films and relationships between characters, they are gonna be lost here. I think they can still enjoy Infinity War, its great action and drama. Can't wait for the finale! And I am READY for some Captain Marvel
  16. Not sure what happened here, but this person's nails need an intervention A S A P
