  1. Yep. I love the Mr District Attorney series. Fun stuff, cheap, and stuff you haven't seen a million times before.
  2. That's a fact. GA section has been a lot less lively the past couple weeks.
  3. Great stuff. I've always wanted a Comcav #1 myself and plan to pick one up someday. Fun book.
  4. Cool books. I've often wondered why these aren't more popular. When I first got the Gerber books, the Air Fighters / Airboy run of weird sf/war covers was one of the things that really jumped out at me. How are the interiors?
  5. Wow, great cover that I don't think I've noticed before. That's one of the things I love about the Marvel Westerns... fun stuff that I haven't seen dozens of copies of. The Davis cover is a nice consolation for the lack of Kirby inside. Did he do any other Atlas covers?
  6. Nice. I've been eyeballing the pre-200 part of the run recently too, I think someone posted a bunch somewhere a few months back. Fun stuff that you don't see every day.
  7. Awesome. This'd be for the pre-Robin Tec chapter of American History? Hmm... American History Tec
  8. none if you believe um reason for stepping down Wow, hadn't heard this until just now. Talk about a rise and fall. unfortunately this was foreseen if you followed the gators and um this year Heh. We're saddled with his predecessor up here so I know about :cry:ing.
  9. none if you believe um reason for stepping down Wow, hadn't heard this until just now. Talk about a rise and fall.
  10. Yeah, I really wanted one of the peacock paintings. I was only $120, then I bit it up to $400 and called it quits. I really hope there is some more of his stuff out there... I wish I'd paid closer attention sooner myself, one of those things I'll probably regret in a few years. But with that amount of material hitting the market, I'm sure we'll see some of it available again.
  11. There are a few pics I hadn't seen before in the new Taschen book, including a pic of a man reading a More Fun #25 (Oct 1937) which would be among the earliest pics that have surfaced -- in fact only the Life newsstand pic that jpepx posted awhile back comes to mind as something earlier. Taschen has the first 100 pages of the book online to browse through for free, which of course covers much of the GA section. Should be of interest to many reading this thread: http://www.taschen.com/lookinside/06749/index.htm
  12. NICE. Thanks for posting, I missed it the first time around. I think that might be an Action 21. I think I'm seeing the Superman corner bust logo in the upper left corner (which would exclude the 14 if true), and that shape visible below the Action logo towards the left could be Superman's cape. Obviously, hard to make out though. Btw, thanks very much for your contributions to the thread -- and to everyone else digging stuff up as well. A thoroughly enjoyable thread.
  13. Wow. Which farm mag was it? Shame they weren't still doing this in the 70's, I grew up on a farm and those mags and the newspaper were frequently the only fresh reading material laying around the house.
  14. Thank goodness college basketball starts tomorrow.
  15. Famed Walt Kelly golden age comic book character from which the Florida mascot got his name, of course. I'm sure someone around here collects Gators.
  16. What is the one that got away -- the best book you had the opportunity to buy but passed on, and later regretted?
