  1. Just picked these up from a Craig's List ad(no feces). Finally someone actually had something worthwhile. These three books plus 2 romance books. His ad said $2500. By the time we hung up he said he would take no less than $1000. Said he had them appraised at a LCS and was told they were 9.5's. Yes, 9.5's. I called to verify this appraisal and the said they never heard of him. I still feel they warrant a look-see. Anyway, we meet, I tell him they aren't "9.5"'s, and they aren't worth $1000. But thay are worth something. We make a deal and here they are.
  2. Magnus was always interesting, but I like robots.
  3. How many books that are bagged and boarded fit into a short box? Approximately? I'm too lazy to count.
  4. Kudos to Inaflash for sweet deal on a group of books, and a freebie. More importantly, he sent the books to me BEFORE he even received my check.
  5. He took on the whole forum starting with Chrome and the best part was where he was gonna fight arex at the Balitmore Con or some place.... What do ya mean, gonna? . I think it's going to be in the driveway/parking lot, if memory serves.
  6. 1947 issue #3. All interior pages are story pages, so it looks like you got your dime's worth. Actually it was an interesting read. Mostly about a circus and all the behind the scenes shenanigans, scams, pickpocketing and even murder. You know, all the good wholesome stuff a circus is about.
  7. Here's my only other one. Great cover. This one doesn't have the sig, but i bought it from Pat at the same time as the Crime Suspense Stories 11. .
  8. Ok, now I have to post my one and only Sparkle, but it's an early one.
  9. If that is the extent of the infractions, then so be it. That many names will just drive the point home. no?
  10. I have a couple of books from the "Pat K" collection, recently acquired a few weeks ago. When my friend gives them back I'll scan them. I just didn't want to feel left out. They were OO, I believe. Now I know where the reat of the collection went to. (thumbs u FYI, Pat is a girl(woman)
  11. Typical squigly drawings with the red and blue outline for the 3D. If i have time I'll snap a pic later.
  12. There were 2 sets of loose glasses inside, and I gave it a whirl with the glasses on. I must admit, it wasn't the best 3D I've experienced. The glasses on the cover are just part of the cover artwork and are only drawn on.
  13. This one was a great read. Look at the opening splash page. Nice coloring, I think. Good Green Hornet story, Spirit of 76, GGA in Calamity Jane. Advertisement for Black Cat #8.
  14. That Joker cover is awesome. I've been seeing that book pop up lately. Here's one from 1953. Issue #3. Really nice shape. Real glossy with a stiff cover. Blacks are much deeper than the scan shows.
  15. Yes, first issue. It's listed as scarce and 1st TV comic in Overstreet's.
  16. Read these 2 last night from my mini GA pile. Famous Funnies story was pretty good, and that cover is awesome. Unfortunately there is brittleness in the LRC, dammit. Howdy is much nicer, but not really my kind of story, but it's a keeper. First Issue
  17. Finished reading another off of my mini GA pile. One Shot
  18. Not exactly up my alley, but it came with a small group of Golden Agers I picked up. Finally getting to read them, so they are "officially" in my collection. First issue, 1948.
  19. I completely understand this and have seen it happen dozens of times. But that just drives the point home; lots, dare I say most, of those other threads that are doing the bumping are doing so because they are full of chatter.
