  1. I can't remember at all where I got these. Maybe in a cereal box? I can't find them in Overstreets either. Anybody recognize these?
  2. That 8 year old child reference was there for a couple of days before it was cleaned and locked. I was wondering what took so long, since it was pretty brutal. Why isn't this genius banned? Like lifetime. I just clicked on his name to see his profile, so it seems he is still here.
  3. That bag you have it in should be carefully discarded and should be replaced with a new one and a backing board. Old plastic bags turn sticky and greasy feeling because the plasticizers leach out. You probably don't have a replacement handy, but maybe you could stop at a comic shop and they could set you up with one bag and board, out of respect for the comic.
  4. Looks like you found some keepers! Nice job, but the action comics posted after you will probably steal your thunder.. For sure!
  5. A nice white DD#42, maybe an 8.5. The Avengers 17 and the Xmen 11 are rags. There wasn't a DD #1, just the annual #1 but there was the #2.
  6. I finally have something to add here in a long time. Picked up a single stack form someone this morning. She was not a comic person, but said she had Daredevil #1 and #2, and a bunch of other #1's. So out the door I flew. I don't know anything about moderns, so if there is something of note in the modern group, I would appreciate the heads up.
  7. The person at the end of the stolen book chain is left holding the bag. He must return the stolen items, by law. As said earlier, it is up to him to get his money back. It doesn't matter HOW you acquired stolen property; you must give it back.
  8. Yes it's unreasonable. Nominate him for Probation. He was already on my Do Not Deal With list because of previous sketchy behavior. His explanation is open and shut PL. Post it now so that everyone can be informed. If the general consensus is this, then I will be nominating him. Anyone on the PL must have an option to make it right, to either complete the transaction or in some other sense make the other party whole. What do you want the seller to do given the books are already sold to someone else? An action like this, if true, warrants a spot on the PL. But how is the seller supposed to be made whole? If I remember correctly, this happened before, and the seller ponied up some cash to the buyer to get out of it. That solution doesn't exactly sit right with me, but what are some other options?
  9. I, for one, did partake in adding to my Planet collection. What was for sale here recently was equivalent to a year's worth, normally.
  10. You are good people, Justin. Mmmm hes okay I suppose. Personally, I appreciate the effort that Justin and POV (along with others) put into keeping the list updated and linked. There are so many bad apples out there it is hard to remember them all, especially with name changes and new IDs. That's why, IMO, name changes should stop. Only in a very few circumstances are they warranted and should be allowed. I find myself identifying people by their avatars, not by their screen names. Very confusing, and for what purpose, I ask?
  11. Remind me again why stuff like this is not PL worthy? That would be my question also. Maybe nobody nominated him yet?
  12. Wasn't there a post a few pages back that said adding a surcharge to use Paypal is a violation of their TOS?
  13. Rocket scientist who doubles as a brain surgeon.
  14. No Earthbound (yet). That thing is pricey complete in box! Never played it as a kid, but I have heard it is awesome. I missed Earthbound, too. My friend got me into RPGs with FF III (VI) and then I went back and played II (IV). Played Mystic Quest, but somehow missed Earthbound. Been trying to find a good (i.e. not on the computer) way to play it since then. Will have to see how easy/difficult it is to setup on the Wii. I noticed that Chrono Trigger is conspicuously missing from your list. If you've missed that, you should play that before Earthbound, it is one of the best RPG's ever and the best SNES RPG. I have a copy (it's in the pics somewhere) and it is indeed a great game. Chrono Trigger was the one with the dog sidekick, wasn't it?
  15. Being into comics, I remember playing a cheesey Nintendo Superman game for NES. Not the Death and Return one, the one before. I remember him spinning around to go subterranean. Good times. I also remember getting Metriod for NES and thought what a great game that was with all of the hidden rooms with the awesome weapons. The game that really blew me away was FF1. I couldn't figure out how to play the damn thing for about a day and then it clicked. It was groundbreaking for me.
  16. You should read Rule 1D: A Transaction between board members is not confined to the CGC Message Boards. Any transaction between forum members, regardless of the venue, is eligible for inclusion in the PL.
  17. I also believe this discussion should be moved to the General Discussion thread, as this is the probation thread.
  18. As stated a few times, the seller can stand on his head and claim either version of FOB to Paypal. I believe that point is moot, the buyer wins hands down when using Paypal. I believe it was Comix4fun that stated he was able to initiate a USPS claim as a buyer. My postmaster wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. The insurance is for the sender, and the sender only, as he is the beneficiary of the insurance policy. The seller is the one who took the insurance out, even though he might have gotten the buyer to pay for it. Now, if you look at FOB shipping , what stops a crappy seller from slapping the merchandise in a flimsy box or envelope since he is absolved of any shipping responsibility? Not a good situation.
