I don’t think there is a lot out there. But many years ago, I saw a few. I believe they are locked away with a couple “old timers”...

Reminds me of the covers on Wanted at the same time. Same artist. Sure got violent!
-
Nice “subset”. I think I might have a couple more somewhere.

WOW! Congrats on the find and your patience in waiting him out. Did you see the Roadshow segment? Wonder what they were appraised for? I have watched that show for years and rarely seen many vintage comics. Maybe not a lot of “keys” in most people’s eyes, but a ton of classic issues. Yes, I do believe they are still out there. Especially in larger geographical areas. There were just so many produced and a lot of people actually hung on to them. Probably the best score you will ever find. Congrats and savor them! -
1939 NEWSSTAND PIC TIME MACHINE JOURNEY INTO THE PAST
Robot Man replied to ajaxfarrell's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
People soon forgot that Hitler was doing the same thing a scant 10 years earlier. Again, ignorance and fear which is sadly still prevalent in our society even today. -

What is poor old Jughead doing on that wall. So sad, a number of keys there. People can be so ignorant... -

OK, sorry not GA but had a couple of questions and thought you folks might know. Picked up this cool reader from Catrick a while ago for a mere 10 spot. Cool issue with Severin and Ditko interior art. Now, although un-credited, and in-signed, does this look like an Everett cover? Also, does this story look like Wally Wood or possibly Sid Check? It is also un-signed. I welcome your opinions. -
Wow, cool! New one to me. The beauty of a book like this is that it is so affordable. With the pack chasing all the hot stuff, stuff like this sits in boxes un-discovered. And try to find one...

WHAT ARE THE HIGHEST CONFIRMED 3 GA SALES FOR 2019
Robot Man replied to I am not Glenda's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
If Action 1, Tec 27, MM 1, Cap 1 and Bat 1 were all worth cover price, and I had a dime and could only pick one... Bat 1 hands down. Iconic, and a great read cover to cover. First Joker and Catwoman rocks. Now best cover? Cap 1 hands down. -

I believe this 1956 Jimmy Olsen picture was mailed out to fans by Jack Larson’s staff. Again cool back featuring Jimmy Olsen #13. -

Some more cool Superman send away and DC promo stuff... Superman dangler from a 1950’s cereal box back. Put it together with thread and hang it up! -
Seller: Do you include lube with that offer?

That senario is older than I am I think.

Unless it was a hot “movie book” that I missed in my box...

I have gotton the same thing happen right here on the boards within minutes of posting a book. I usually don’t look at PMs anyway when I’m posting. Nothing more fun that replying back after I’m done that sorry, someone took it at full price...
-
I don’t blame them either. Nor do I get upset. (Depending on their attitude). Frankly, I don’t like haggling any way either as a buyer or seller. The price I ask is what I need to get for it. Why mark it up just to lower my price. People don’t do it in a restraunt or any established retail business. When I get a whiner that tells me “it isn’t worth that” I ask them to take the item to 7-11 and try and get a carton of milk for it. Now that we have established that it isn’t worth anything to 99% of the world, what is it worth to the buyer or the seller? But this is the collectible business, I get the dance. I have quoted my price. In a poker game it is up to the next player to make a move. I had a guy try and kick me down on some nice PCH on Saturday. These are the hottest books on the planet right now and virtually impossible to replace. I had looked through his boxes and his average PCH was priced literally 4 times what I was asking for similar material. He, of course, picked out two of my best ones and offered half my asking price. I told him I had seen his prices and decided mine were more than fair. He gave me a pitiful look and started whining about something I don’t remember. I just took them back and said I changed my mind and will just keep them. You should have seen the look on his face... I don’t like this guy anyway and obviously no body else did either. He sat over by himself not selling anything and hardly anybody spoke to him. You don’t like my price, make a fair offer or look for the next disperit sucker...

This seller has been stellar with me and we are working out the problem. It really has gotton to be a carp shoot though. I mean really, hardly any of us are "professional graders" If you don't know how or are scared to (which I can understand), Take a few minutes to do a full description of the book, provide enough clear photos and stand behind your auction with a solid return policy. Anything else is a lazy cop out and not worthy of my hard earned money no matter how tempting.
