  1. An inherited collection is usually more of a burden than a legacy to most people. And once big dollars get mentioned, most people tend to get greedy. Buying from people like this can get very difficult and a lot of work. Explaining condition, market values ect usually ends up with a no sale. Why not donate it to an institution like a college or library if you want lovers of the medium? Nice tax deduction. But the lure of big money tends to change people’s views. Yes, PayPal by all means. Both parties get protection. The original poster did not mention the book. Is this something he cannot get anywhere else? Might be better to wait until he finds a seller with what he wants and can feel more comfortable with.
  2. Congrats. One of my favorite ECs. Crack it! Or at the very least, get a reprint. “Carrion Death” is maybe the creepiest EC story.
  3. Amazing that more and more obscure old comic book seem to surface. I’ve never seen either of these.
  4. I don’t think there is a lot out there. But many years ago, I saw a few. I believe they are locked away with a couple “old timers”...
  5. Reminds me of the covers on Wanted at the same time. Same artist. Sure got violent!
  6. Nice “subset”. I think I might have a couple more somewhere.
  7. WOW! Congrats on the find and your patience in waiting him out. Did you see the Roadshow segment? Wonder what they were appraised for? I have watched that show for years and rarely seen many vintage comics. Maybe not a lot of “keys” in most people’s eyes, but a ton of classic issues. Yes, I do believe they are still out there. Especially in larger geographical areas. There were just so many produced and a lot of people actually hung on to them. Probably the best score you will ever find. Congrats and savor them!
  8. People soon forgot that Hitler was doing the same thing a scant 10 years earlier. Again, ignorance and fear which is sadly still prevalent in our society even today.
  9. What is poor old Jughead doing on that wall. So sad, a number of keys there. People can be so ignorant...
  10. OK, sorry not GA but had a couple of questions and thought you folks might know. Picked up this cool reader from Catrick a while ago for a mere 10 spot. Cool issue with Severin and Ditko interior art. Now, although un-credited, and in-signed, does this look like an Everett cover? Also, does this story look like Wally Wood or possibly Sid Check? It is also un-signed. I welcome your opinions.
  11. Wow, cool! New one to me. The beauty of a book like this is that it is so affordable. With the pack chasing all the hot stuff, stuff like this sits in boxes un-discovered. And try to find one...
  12. If Action 1, Tec 27, MM 1, Cap 1 and Bat 1 were all worth cover price, and I had a dime and could only pick one... Bat 1 hands down. Iconic, and a great read cover to cover. First Joker and Catwoman rocks. Now best cover? Cap 1 hands down.
  13. I believe this 1956 Jimmy Olsen picture was mailed out to fans by Jack Larson’s staff. Again cool back featuring Jimmy Olsen #13.
  14. Not sure how this 1948 postcard was obtained. I’ve never seen an ad for it. Love the back!
  15. Some more cool Superman send away and DC promo stuff... Superman dangler from a 1950’s cereal box back. Put it together with thread and hang it up!
  16. Unless it was a hot “movie book” that I missed in my box...
