  1. It is a classic book and character. But being a person who once owned one and read it several times, I don't consider it a classic "must have" book. I would also put Green Lantern in that camp. I have never owned a Dectective #27 though. That would be a keeper. I also had More Fun #52 and 53. I sold them when I bought my first house. I really miss them as I love the darkness that is the Spectre as much as the Batman.

Based upon my experience, I don't see a problem with bringing in creators/artists and celebrities to this show.

The major problem and a key one at that, is for the show promoters to being in half decent comic book dealers with vintage comic books for collectors to buy.  After all, this is supposedly a comic book convention, and I doubt the comic book collectors will continue to pay top dollar to go to a show that has virtually no comic books dealers present.  hm

It is call a "Fan Expo" NOT a "Comic Con". So, in all fairness to the promoters, I would not expect to see a whole lot of vintage comics there. I would always, check the exhibitor list on their website to determine if it was worth my attending as a comic collector. Doesn't look like a comic book centric show.

I collect Autographed photos, cards, signed balls, old auction catalogs, bobble heads, game used bats.  And my prized posessions a game used BJ Surhoff glove and a Milwaukee County Stadium wooden seat.

I also collect old gas station signs and oil cans.  And as a music lover I grab all the Rockabilly I can on vinyl.  Love the look my 5 year old nephew gives me when he asks to go downstairs and play records.  He fascinated by it.

We must be brothers from another mother. I also dabble in "petroliana" I sold off most of my collection when I moved but still buy and sell it when I can find it at flea markets and estate sales. I like all kinds of old advertising items as well.

I also play guitar in a blues/rock-a-billy band. Lots of rock-a-billy action out here in SO CA. Always fun to walk around in the parking lot and see all the '50's hot rods when we do a gig.
