Many, many, many years ago I was at a small comic show. There was a guy with a table full of nice GA/SA books. We talked and he invited me over to his place.
When I got to his place, I found it was a trailer. Inside was a couch, a TV, coffee table, a mattress on the floor and was packed with mostly worthless comics. I quickly figured out that show table was his entire life savings.
I left a lot less impressed…

I agree. Such a great cover all on its own. I have wanted one for a long time but the Zodiac connection has put it just slightly out of reach for me. 

Speaking of display pieces, I got this Iron Man standee promoting the 2008 video game for $5 at a moving sale a couple years ago

New case E at Target. My favorite of this mix.

Grocery store restock this morning. Been wanting this Fleetline Treasure Hunt bad!

Found these at Target yesterday. Older D case restock. The custom 53 Chevy is the Treasure Hunt. And the 2nd Godzilla Nissan recast. Missed out on them first time around.

Nice big logo Detective-- love this "Kane" Robinson cover-- similar to the cover later done on BATMAN #43.

Picked this up at the flea market yesterday. It is a free monthly magazine with the goings on in the local antique world. Also auction results nationally on a variety of antiques. The cover just screamed out at me. I just had to know. Interesting article but what was of biggest interest to me was the full page article on PCH books. I have never heard of this collector or this auction house. Apparently, this auction happened beginning of Jan.
Frankly, I never like seeing articles like this in the hands of “civilians”. Gives everyone the wrong idea. Sure makes it tougher on us flea market scroungers…
Anybody here ever visit this library? Looks like the Sistine Chapel of comics.

Was my second Marvel comic. Bought it off the drug store rack as a kid. The Sandman blew me away. How do you defeat a guy like that? Read it to bits. Still one of my favorite Spiderman issues. Sadly, I no longer have a copy.

I have always bought them because I like them. And because I like them and kept them, just by accident, they have become pretty good investments…

After much family squabbling and endless probate, my wife’s mother’s estate has finally been sorted, with my wife the majority beneficiary. The prize of the holdings were comic books, and we inherited them all. 

I will consider offers, and viewings will be appointment only.  

I’ve always loved store promo stuff, particularly from the 80’s and 90’s, as that’s when I was a kid first going to comic shops. A lot of this stuff was thrown out, or didn’t survive, and can be genuinely tough to find. I love comics, but the thing about comics is, with the exception of genuinely scarce Golden Age books, you can find nearly any book you are looking for, at any time, if you have the money. This stuff though, not so much. Finding a poster or standee that I remember seeing at my LCS in my childhood is an instant nostalgia blast.

Those are nice. Soaky and Pez are a tough combination to beat for a kid of any age!
The Holy Grail of most Creature collectors though is the Bally pinball machine:

Never bought comics with investment as a driving force.
Always loved reading them and bought whatever I connected to, the best copy I could find within an affordable price limit.
I do wish I'd been less impulsive and more selective, though.  Although I've had some luck with them, voracious reading leads to the accumulation of far too much drek and far too much long term regret, as your outlook and your focal points, both inside and outside of the comics realm, change naturally with age.
