  1. I don't even know my opponent yet, but I'm just gonna assume I'll get crushed. By two seeding-round bullseyes are going to be the highlight of my showing this year, haha. Either way, grades in!
  2. Finally finished it after watching a downloaded last episode (my Netflix, for whatever reason, kept bugging on the last episode at around the 17m mark). I was okay with many of the lesser changes, and even the ending, but I have to say... Not sure if that even needs a spoiler tag, but whatevs.
  3. I am the Greatest of All Time! Wait, the ranking list does go from lowest to highest, right?
  4. @BlowUpTheMoon I posted that I was in back on the first page...or was the tagging for something else?
  5. I had complete runs of Excalibur, Alpha Flight, and New Mutants (other than 98), but had to break them up at one point. I have a full run of What If? v1 now, and am working on a full run of Uncanny X-Men v1 (~80% complete right now).
  6. I agree, I'm not hanging anything particularly expensive. But I have some sets of signed books that aren't just autographed, but sketched on, and it seems a waste to have them sit in boxes. I'm probably hanging them on a wall in a room that has the blinds down pretty much all the time, and only open a few inches when not (to let some air in while working out), so they won't really be getting much direct sunlight. Where is that four-book frame from? I tried finding that and couldn't. Or is it just 4 individual frames together?
  7. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on how to best frame and hang multiple (unslabbed) comics in one frame? I have a set of four books and a set of 3-6 books that I'm thinking of framing and hanging on a wall, but I'd prefer they stay together rather than be separate frames for the visual effect (the four would be side by side and without dividers between if possible, the 3-6 can be in other configurations and can be separated by matte).
  8. Wow, I come back from vacation to find that I somehow managed two of my top 10 picks from way at the bottom of the order? Man, I need to go on vacation during next year's raffle, too...
  9. So, when my wife and I went to Germany last year for her to run the Berlin Marathon, I decided to start a travel collecting hobby...trying to pick up some Marvel/DC comics in the local language (X-Men preferred, but not required). Last year, I had to settle for a TPB of the Dark Phoenix Saga in German, because the store I went to didn't have any loose books not in English (there was another one I'd looked up that was more likely to have them, but it was closed on weekends, which was the day I'd had time to go). Well, just got back from vacation in Thailand, and on our first day there, we went to a comic store we'd looked up that looked like it would have some (and not Japanese or Chinese imports, which was most of what I saw in stores on Google...), only to find that comic store apparently closed for good. Oh well, I thought... Until a couple days later, when we stumbled on a flea market, and what did I find? I didn't know anything about the book at the time, but it looks like it's the UK version, not the US version. And how a Hungarian Spider-Man book in shrink-wrap ended up in a flea market in Bangkok is a story I'd love to find out...
  10. Congrats to all the winners, and thanks Dr.X for running the show!
  11. Ooh, my cat wants to join in as well...Monkey says, "Nothing!" because he knocked them all off the table and onto the floor.
  12. @HollyJollyOne Just wanted to confirm...cutoff is 12/23, and then the list will be given shortly after that, right? I'm going to be on vacation and out of the country starting on 12/25. Can I send you (or someone else?) an ordered list of preferences to make my pick by proxy?
  13. Figured out my prize...misc trade and comic-related book package.
  14. I'm in...need to figure out what I'm gonna donate, though.
  15. I got totally shut out, didn't even make it out of the waiting room before all tickets were sold out. Oh well.
  16. Woops! I didn't think I placed well enough for a prize, and I've been out all day....umm...I'll go with #64, the Art of Illumination book, if that's still available!
  17. First comic at all was Marvel Masterworks vol. 1, reprinting AF15 and ASM 1-10. First actual comic I remember getting was Uncanny X-Men #300.
  18. Lucky! This was the only thing I actually wanted to win, and doesn't seem like I did. Good luck finding something!
  19. You heard something? I still haven't gotten anything...at this point, I'm assuming it's all a loss. Which sucks, because I really, really wanted to get Warren Ellis to sign my Spider sketch, but oh well. The rest of the stuff I put in for, whatever, none of them were lottery-only, so not like I'm totally shut out.
