  1. Finally finished it after watching a downloaded last episode (my Netflix, for whatever reason, kept bugging on the last episode at around the 17m mark).

I was okay with many of the lesser changes, and even the ending, but I have to say...

    Spoiler

they toned down the terror far, FAR too much. Netflix doesn't shy away from horror--Sabrina and Hill House show that--but this...it just had no threat to it. Dodge had no bite whatsoever, and the Lockes had like zero real stakes. I never felt worried for them, and I certainly never felt afraid of Dodge.

Not sure if that even needs a spoiler tag, but whatevs.

personally I wouldn't want to frame or hang anything expensive to prevent damage from occurring due to many things light, sunlight, accidents, bumps, theft, etc... but if your framing some stuff they have single comic frames all over the place BCW has some and you can look on Amazon for many different types. if you want some with a plate you might have to visit a local shop that frames art work and stuff to get it professionally framed.

below is a example of some cheaper frames that house 4 or 2 or more depending on how many you want to do .

I agree, I'm not hanging anything particularly expensive. But I have some sets of signed books that aren't just autographed, but sketched on, and it seems a waste to have them sit in boxes. I'm probably hanging them on a wall in a room that has the blinds down pretty much all the time, and only open a few inches when not (to let some air in while working out), so they won't really be getting much direct sunlight.

Where is that four-book frame from? I tried finding that and couldn't. Or is it just 4 individual frames together?

  3. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on how to best frame and hang multiple (unslabbed) comics in one frame? I have a set of four books and a set of 3-6 books that I'm thinking of framing and hanging on a wall, but I'd prefer they stay together rather than be separate frames for the visual effect (the four would be side by side and without dividers between if possible, the 3-6 can be in other configurations and can be separated by matte).

  4. So, when my wife and I went to Germany last year for her to run the Berlin Marathon, I decided to start a travel collecting hobby...trying to pick up some Marvel/DC comics in the local language (X-Men preferred, but not required). Last year, I had to settle for a TPB of the Dark Phoenix Saga in German, because the store I went to didn't have any loose books not in English (there was another one I'd looked up that was more likely to have them, but it was closed on weekends, which was the day I'd had time to go).

Well, just got back from vacation in Thailand, and on our first day there, we went to a comic store we'd looked up that looked like it would have some (and not Japanese or Chinese imports, which was most of what I saw in stores on Google...), only to find that comic store apparently closed for good. Oh well, I thought...

Until a couple days later, when we stumbled on a flea market, and what did I find?

I didn't know anything about the book at the time, but it looks like it's the UK version, not the US version. And how a Hungarian Spider-Man book in shrink-wrap ended up in a flea market in Bangkok is a story I'd love to find out...

    • Cutoff 12/23 at Noon eastern time.
    • The form everybody loves will be available for participants to begin submitting shortly (meaning an hour or two) after that cutoff time. I'll post a link to the form in this thread when it's ready.
    • Participants can fill out that form at their leisure from that point on.
    • The ranking order will be posted sometime before the raffle begins.
    • The raffle itself begins on 12/27 at noon eastern time. Each participant, when their time comes, will have 5-minutes to make their selection from the list of available prizes. If a ranking form was submitted, we'll use that to determine their prize selection. Once a participant has picked (either live or by form), or if the 5-minutes has expired, we'll move onto the next participant... and so on until all the prizes are selected. If a participant misses their 5-minute window they may choose asap at any point going forward.

If you can't wait for the form, or will be unavailable to fill it in, you can always submit a list to myself or @The Sledder via PM and we will do our best to accommodate.

    Got it, thanks!

If you never received an email either way (I did not), try uninstalling the phone app and re-installing it, then click lotteries. I actually just found out I won the Warren Ellis signing Friday and one of the exclusive toys but never got any emails! Now I need to figure out what the Warren Ellis signing actually is, it says you get a Castlevania poster but gives no other details on if or what you can bring to have signed or if witnesses are allowed. I only entered this as I figured all exclusive signings were worth trying for. Now I gotta go hunt down a good book or two to add to my pile. Anyone have any suggestions on something I could easily find at my local shop or pickup at the con?

Lucky! This was the only thing I actually wanted to win, and doesn't seem like I did. Good luck finding something!

Good question.  I applied to a lottery and haven't heard a YAY or a NAY either.  Has anyone had a response to their lottery entry??

UPDATE - Just heard (8:23 EST)

You heard something? I still haven't gotten anything...at this point, I'm assuming it's all a loss. Which sucks, because I really, really wanted to get Warren Ellis to sign my Spider sketch, but oh well. The rest of the stuff I put in for, whatever, none of them were lottery-only, so not like I'm totally shut out.
