  1. Moral of the story - always window bag your books yourself if possible.
  2. This passage from the Superior Court opinion sums up the crux of the matter very well (in legalese anyway) -- "In their individual capacities and as their corporate entity, Investment Grade Books, LLC, the Meyers alleged that the above conduct by CGC, CCS, Nelson and Heritage constituted defamation, false light, tortious interference with a contract and civil conspiracy." The issue at hand goes far beyond CGC choosing not to grade their books with "questionable" restoration.
  3. Going back a few pages, one of Zaid's posts mentions that the trial court dismissed IGB's action outright. ("After the trial court dismissed their action in its entirety, the Defendants appealed to Superior Court, which is the next level appellate court.") IGB then appealed to the Superior Court, who reversed that decision. ("The Court has reversed the decision of the trial court to dismiss the case outright on summary judgment. This decision did not determine the liability of any party but held that as a matter of law the lower court should not have reached the decisions it did...") CGC et al then appealed to the Supreme Court, but that action was denied. So if I had to guess...since liability still hasn't been determined, the case has been remanded to the trial court for an eventual trial that will resolve this issue (barring more appeals of course).
  4. Since I didn’t see this till the 14th, you retroactively win the internet for the 12th. 🍺
  5. You’re right of course, but I felt an indirect PSA to Dylan might increase his knowledge of the real life legal system, not the one in his mind where he’s Thanos walking onto the set of “Law & Order”.
  6. The mods aren’t trying to sue anyone, just enforce board decorum.
  7. Here's one affirmative defense for the sued-to-be: http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/opinion-and-fair-comment-privileges
  8. Your book would lose the yellow label if you have it cross graded, CGC doesn't recognize the other guys' witnessed signatures.
  9. 2021 con season is going to be like Miller Lite - watered down and rather disappointing, but at least its there.
  10. The case number is 391 EDA 2019 You can look up the docket at https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/DocketSheets/Appellate.aspx Last activity was some procedurals in August, this was entered in July: “Order Denying Petition for Allowance of Appeal to PA Supreme Court”.
  11. The sad part of this ongoing fiasco is that Dylan actually COULD be an asset to the hobby. Someone trying to make a go of it as a high volume dealer at such a young age would be admirable...if that person was operating on the level. Petulant teenagers are going to be petulant. I'm sure all of us had a few of our own Denzel moments where we proclaimed "I'ma burn this mother ______ down!!!!", and which seem downright silly in retrospect. Things like that could be brushed off...if Dylan was operating on the level. But we've seen the intentional exploitation of the purple books in blue character label slabs. We've seen the constant, and I would say intentional, overgrading. We've seen this unresolved AF15 fiasco, in which whatever case he's trying to make is constantly marred by repeated immature outbursts. And on top of all that, the continued scorched earth attacks on established standards and veterans of the hobby. I'll end by expanding on what I previously said in the purple label thread - Dylan, if you're listening: take a step back, shut your mouth, put your ego on the shelf, and open your ears. There's a world of knowledge you can benefit from, if you're willing to listen.
  12. I think we should stop besmirching the word "ugly". From now on, I propose that all laughable assigned grades, from any seller, should be referred to as a "dylan" grade. By the definition which I'm proposing, referring to any grade as a "dylan" signals to all potential buyers that the particular book is has been assigned a grade that has been inflated by at least a factor of 1.5. Ergo, his Kid Colt 110 is a dylan VG (reality, probably a 2.0/2.5), the JIM 85 is a dylan G/VG (reality, probably a 1.5, 2.0), etc. Maybe I should be an Overstreet Advisor...
  13. My G/VG other's VG- & VG DylanAuctions tight grading. Anyone with eyes and solid business ethics - FR/G to G. FTFY @dylanthekid
  14. Don't forget that eBay seems to remove just about any negative or neutral feedback so long as the seller requests they do so. Lord knows what has been removed from his feedback profile to date.
  15. Superhero internet sex chat “girl”friend seems like the logical next step.
  16. The industry should pivot to “Dearth of...” titles. — Next week: “Dearth of Thor” hits the shelves! Only 500 copies will be printed! — But they’d probably ruin the gimmick by releasing a 2nd (and 3rd and 4th and 5th) print.
  17. I keep my Jurgens signed SS 9.6 as a tribute to the greatness of the scam that DC pulled on the world with “death” of Superman.
  18. In retrospect, daddy probably should have set him up with a hitch in the Army instead.
  19. Just remember - restoration isn't restorative and therefore doesn't count as restoration, unless Dylan says so.
