  1. Back to Detective Comics we go! 371 to be specific. An amusing, if not slightly sexist cover, featuring Batgirl having a mid-fight "crisis". A beautifully presenting 9.2 with ow/w pages. Very few graded copies seem to be on the market at the moment, though eBay does show a 9.0 recently selling for a shade under $300. Let's call this guy $350 $315 $300 and see what happens.
  2. Up next we go Golden. Superman Golden. I like this one, I really do, but I've been thinking of downgrading for a while. This is the issue where Superman and Batman learn each other's secret identities while also having a measuring contest to see who gets to save Lois from her predicament. This copy is a 6.0 with off-white pages. On this book, I would consider a cash and trade deal for an under copy that presents well. Otherwise, the all cash ask is set at SOLD.
  3. First up is going to be Detective Comics 457. 1st appearance of Leslie Thompkins, with a Batman origin retelling tossed in for good measure. If you check out this book in the census, you'll see that there are only 107 total graded copies. What further sets this particular copy apart is that it is the highest graded Signature Series copy by a fair margin; its the only SS 9.6, and the next census entry is at SS 9.0. Sadly there will be no more Denny O'Neil signatures either. I can find no recent precedent to cite in pricing this one, so I'm going to put the initial ask at SALE PENDING.
  4. I'm unofficially calling this one the "Buy my books so @jbpez doesn't break my knees" thread. Necessities first: Payment: In addition to PayPal, I will also accept check/money order/Zelle, though the book will be held until clearance. Payment due within 10 business days. Shipping (domestic): Booka will be shipped via insured USPS priority mail in a medium flat rate box. Domestic shipping is included in the listed prices. International Shipping - exact cost, minus the US shipping cost. Please inquire first for an accurate quote. Returns: No returns on CGC books as you know what you're getting. On the HoS? Probation list? Or I simply don't like you (aka on my ignore list)? Don't bother. Can provide board references if needed (no name dropping here), and over 1700 positive eBay feedback as well -- https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=792mn. And I've got a fledgling kudos thread started (link is in my profile page). First wins a book outright, well reasoned offers always welcome. Onward!
  5. Nevermind, he's scamming low value stuff.
  6. It behooves them to have customer service bury their collective head in the sand. For every 1 of us who is on the lookout for shilling, there’s probably 100 potential buyers who are ignorant to it. In the eBay mind: Higher sales price = higher final value fees = higher quarterly earnings per share = happier shareholders. Capitalists should still have morals, and eBay clearly has none ☹️
  7. I wish I could share your optimism of eBay’s decline, but they are an entrenched brand name. Those can be hard to kill, like Steven Seagal. And if their stock performance is any indication, eBay will be able to schlep along as a poor Amazon imitation for the foreseeable future.

The last four direct blue label 9.8s to sell on eBay all went for a buck or three under $800. Eliminate eBay's shakedown fee, a little extra off for the boards, and I say...$715 shipped
  9. Sad to see that Cornholio-84 is still managing to make money on eBay, though his trash does seem to be selling for less on average.
  10. That's a bit shortsighted, there are plenty of quality Stan yellow labels out there that were signed post-2010.
  11. 35 is pure grade chasing. Frankly, there should not be any 9.8s, all the copies I’ve ever seen, including the slabbed 9.8s, were damaged in production and have at least two very visible color breaking spine stresses. It’s the quintessential dollar bin book selling for stupid money in 9.8. Speaking as a Wolverine enthusiast, the story isn’t even all that good.
  12. And I just LOVE this lot of books: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Avengers-196-Bronze-Age-Comic-Lot-High-Grade-Original-Owner-Set-MUST-SEE/402506753709?hash=item5db745a6ad:g:KsAAAOSwEUZfkI4C Filled with all sorts of high grade 6.0s, many featuring the highly coveted spine roll.
  13. Shame about the back cover, front looks great! You'll want to move this to Gold/Silver/Bronze though to get the proper audience
