  1. He thinks this current interruption is going to kill poker for good?
  2. Must've been a typo, RJ has been selling for a long time and his prices are usually pretty reasonable. God help anyone who doesn't comparison shop though...
  3. 1-900 numbers - the original App Store. And to the original question - no. Even at 10ish years old I had more sense than that.
  4. Definitely agree, at some great prices too. Wish I could partake, but the bargains in the stock market are eating up all my disposable cash right now.
  5. I'd suggest posting his user ID in the EBAY BLOCKED USER thread in Comics General.
  6. The guy is a thief. He could priority flat rate you a raw book for $7.15. $13 to ship one raw book is absurd in and of itself, but asking for another $8 after you've already paid is weak sauce. Take the seller to task.
  7. From the con that Keya Morgan dragged him to. But what would possess anyone to get that book signed in the first place?
  8. Few things in this world are worse than an Afghan National Army port-o-John...
  9. I see a glaring lack of Sprite, Campbell's chicken noodle soup, and Dayquil. Did you learn nothing from the ancestors?
  10. Headline: "The state of Oklahoma used over half its daily capacity of coronavirus tests on the Utah Jazz organization" -- https://sports.yahoo.com/the-state-of-oklahoma-used-over-half-its-daily-supply-of-covid-19-tests-on-the-utah-jazz-organization-164110976.html I don't know if this is tragic or comical.
  11. Like @sfcityduck said, scandalous. We’re treating this like the social apocalypse while not having the capacity to even remotely accurately gauge the extent of the spread in this country to date.
  12. I'm curious if anyone in the know has any insight to if the US is ever going to ramp up its COVID-19 testing capacity? Like I mentioned before, I had what I assumed was the flu last week. I took the week off, followed the ways of my ancestors, and hunkered down under triple layers and a space heater shaped like a Siberian husky. Overall I was back in business by Friday. But I had a brief symptom re-flash on that Thursday, and I started considering getting some further screening just in case. But when I tried to look into it...nothing. Nada. Sounded more like healthcare providers were jumping through hoops NOT to test people for COVID-19 due to the scarcity of testing kits. How is that we have this current level of hysteria, yet minimal testing capacity? This don't make no damn sense to me.
  13. Here’s something to keep in mind though - if I want to get a book in front of buyers at cons across the country, I NEED to consign it. I’m not a dealer, I don’t have booths, and I don’t travel to shows. So I’ll happily pay the 10% for maximum exposure. Now, could I put that book on eBay? Sure. If I want to pay more fees, get less eyes, and risk someone trying to scam me. Sell it yourself is not always the best option.
  14. Of course a dealer is going to offer a lower price, they need to make money to stay in business. But consigning and selling are two different things; you’re original post seems to intermingle the two.
  15. 0.5 - 9.8 would be a cop out. Go out and get you those 9.9 and 10.0 copies!
  16. This viewpoint is way too simplistic.
  17. The only fault in your logic is that you're assuming eBay cares that this is occurring. The only reason we wound up getting goodnewscomics banned from eBay is that he showed up on the boards and not only confessed to shilling his items, but also vehemently defended doing so. But absent a substantial case of stupid from the seller, its quite likely that eBay will just ignore shilling behavior.
  18. More power to him if it works, but you have to wonder why a person would consign to a seller just for that seller to put their stuff on eBay? 13% off the top to eBay/PayPal fees, another 10% as commission, however much for shipping to the buyer...the consignor ends up with about 75ish% of the final price. Better off cutting out the consignee and opening your own eBay account. A good consignee is bringing something to the table that you can't accomplish on your own. Generally with comics, I look for better transaction security, better access to a wide network of buyers, and a better chance at realizing top dollar in the sale price. Neither Gabe nor eBay offers any of those.
  19. Tell you what, this year’s flu didn’t come to play. I’m going on day five with it and my symptoms actually surged back for a few hours earlier this afternoon. Maybe it’s just micropulsing, like a positive Jon Jones steroid test.
