  1. Here's one thing I can't wrap my head around -- the Horn of Eld's presence is being talked up as a symbol that this is Roland's next chapter. Fair enough, but then why is Jake even in the movie? (Book spoilers follow, so proceed accordingly) Lord help me, I haven't built up this much disdain for a movie since X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
  2. You could also post a response to that hypothetical negative. People who actually take the time to read feedback would probably be understanding of an instance of a misplaced decimal point.
  3. From the sound of things so far, the TV series should be DOA. The first trailer made it seem like this movie might have it's moments and meet my low expectations if I could just bring myself to detach from the source material, but my opinion has gone even further downhill since. I'll see the movie once it gets to Netflix, we already pay for that so why drop an extra $2 at Red Box just for Matthew McConaughy to sell me a Lincoln. The critics' review on Rotten Tomatoes are pretty funny at least.
  4. This here 9.6 has a vastly better sketch and is 0.1% the 9.8's ask. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spider-Man-36-CGC-9-6-SS-X3-Romita-Sr-Romita-Jr-sketch-Hanna-Sketch-UPC/263094781200?_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D45726%26meid%3D4c5ee695a7b04976837b919b3fd23625%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D263072010883&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982 But no Stan. Clearly, that rare Stan Lee signature is worth $599,350.01.
  5. I get a kick out of this pseudo-threat in the description: "The seller will not renew this listing after the initial 30 days. Although he does not have to..... the seller would find it convenient to sell the books now. If the books do not sell, the entire collection will be transferred to a climate controlled storage facility and remain there for an unspecified period of time."
  6. This line actually hits the whole problem right on the head: "Can it still have relevance now where so much of our world is catching up to what was science fiction in the first two films." T2 was THE movie when it was released because it was so futuristically visionary and Arnold was at peak earning power. But that was nearly 20 years ago. Nowadays the concept of malicious AI is discussed as a legitimate future issue and no longer considered just some far fetched wacko theory. So I guess it can be relevant in some sense, but a rebooted story about angry robots, featuring past prime Arnold who is certainly showing his age, is probably going to earn more yawns than dollars. The world needed and received two outstanding Terminator movies, but since then it has truly sucked watching this franchise get turned into nothing more than yet another bankable name that can net a few bucks for Hollyweird.
  7. Want to check your Glock 19? Go for it! Want to check those 25 Wolverine readers you just bought? No can do partner, you're slogging them in your carry-on for the duration. Enjoy your flight! -- Drive anywhere and everywhere that you can --
  8. Agreed, wished they'd shut down altogether because they suck just as bad in the US. Had some window blinds delivered by them the other day, and the heaviest box (like 30 lbs. heavy) and its contents were beaten to excrement because the driver just tossed it in my driveway (couldn't even walk up to the front door). Now comes the fun of return and replace. F them.
  9. That latest trailer was amazing, hopefully the movie lives up to it!
  10. If Diamond Joe's exploits don't make it into the Library of Congess, they oughta shut that place down.
  11. Cost -- 3 AM wake-up, two hours standing outside on a frigid December morning in Afghanistan, and a shakedown by the Secret Service. But if you don't know this celebrity, you need to read The Onion. Like right now. Seriously. Go!
  12. That is true (taking everyone's word for it on Logan, avoiding it like the plague myself due to personal disdain of modern Marvel). And since their Wolverine-centric movies went from terrible (featuring a totally botched Deadpool appearance), to subpar, to Logan, maybe they've gotten all the bad out of the FF franchise too?
  13. How can one not get excited about that? Fox has certainly done wonders with the all things FF related so far...
  14. No surprise there, it's sad but true that resource scarcity at the local level dumps the burden onto the victim in cases like this. Next time just go straight to the Feds (that's my recommendation to any international seller out there who gets victimized by a US based scammer), especially if the US Postal Service was utilized as Mail Fraud is very easy to prove. More people, more resources, and a bigger reach mean that there's at least a slightly better chance that someone will get assigned to devote some time looking into your case.
  15. Probably true in this case, but it may be a slow news week in the Western District of Washington. Or they may have received multiple complaints against the same guy. Either way, it's worth a few minutes to type it up.
  16. Also copies of ASM 300 and 361 in the second photo. If it's legit...yeah, big IF. Remember what the kids say about things that look to good to be true.
  17. As a fellow bone claw era hater, I recommend you pick up 145-189.
  18. The 8.0 AF 15 in the current CLink auction is at $100,000 already, and it kicked off just over 12 hours ago.
  19. Judging by all the (rumored) stuff they want to shoe horn into this, the movie is going to have be like 19 hours long in order to avoid failing harder than X-Men: The Last Stand.
  20. I don't know man, the more I see the more I think this -script is terrible. I saw yet another trailer on NBC last night, and I'm getting quite convinced that they hired two "name" actors for this just to get people in the theater doors. The essence of the series is going to get lost in all these wild explosions and fancy gun play gimmicks. I've been saying all along that Idris Elba, for all his many talents, is simply not Roland Deschain. And McCounaughey. in what appears to be his standard blow dried "I was driving a Lincoln before it was cool" persona, as Walter absolutely does not work. Call me a purist.
  21. My recommendation would be to start here -- https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/investigations/mailtheft/ReportMailTheft.aspx It appears that both mail fraud and wire fraud were committed, and this is right up the Postal Inspectors' alley. Provide EVERY SINGLE DETAIL that you can.
  22. "Wolverine 184 - Signature Series PM forthcoming 9.8 WHITE Frank Tieri story, Esad Ribic cover Sean Chen & Tom Palmer art Signed By Frank Tieri"
  23. For starters, take a few photos of the books you have and post them in this thread. You'll get better informed opinions that way.
