  1. What is this, the 4th one created in a week? They’ve now become more of a distraction than the source of the “joke”...
  2. I’m currently watching one of their books. Should I be apprehensive? Any other recent experiences? Have they successfully exorcised the demons?!
  3. My heart literally skipped a beat and my adrenaline started to pump hahaha.
  4. Well, he messaged me and said he was going out town and wanted to get it out today yadda yadda...so I paid. It’s coming boys...you’re welcome.
  5. Welp, the seller accepted my original offer (to avoid confusion, this was done via messaging). Now I'm committed to the buy, but am fearful as soon as I pay a coupon will drop (this would max out a 15% offer, so it's not a cheap book). Question is, what's an acceptable amount of time to wait to pay? Want to maximize my time for getting the coupon, but still remain respectful to the seller and keep the peace. I'm usually an immediate payer, so waiting makes me feel uncomfortable. What say you?
  6. I always see a curtain forehead...it can’t just be me?! The dark shadows are the underside of the curtain ripples. Careful, once you see it you can’t unsee it...
  7. Oh, and I sold a $5k book that went missing for a couple days (shipped registered mail). There was a sense of comfort knowing I covered my butt as much as I could, and the post office was unusually interested in finding the package haha. I’ll never be one of those people videoing the boxing of my items with the postman present though...how awkward that must be with a line of people behind you?!
  8. RM is very slow. However, it’s stored in a locked bag by itself, in a cage after hours. has to be packed a certain way (wrapped in brown paper and taped with brown tape, they stamp everywhere as tamper evidence), and each person that takes possession through the chain of custody has to sign for it. This means each one personally inspects prior to signing, or they could be held liable for damages. I want to say you can insure up to $50K. People ship gold and such this way...but again, it’s slowwwwww and more expensive.
  9. I’m also conflicted. I find myself buying insurance less and less... THIS is the reason I hesitate. I honestly don’t know what’s required for a claim but I suspect people get screwed over more often than not. Liz - Care to elaborate on your experiences with filing claims with USPS? I’ve used registered mail for the really big books in the past. Since there’s more accountability, is that process better than priority mail?
  10. Aren’t we due one? Feels like we’ve hit a dry spell... I’ve got a counteroffer in my inbox counting down that I’m on the fence on...but a coupon would tip the scales. I’ve obviously been spoiled by the constant stream...
  11. Agree with others...it's a gamble I wouldn't take... Book presents well though, with an old label to boot. Vertical centering is great, and horizontal isn't bad (if you aren't familiar, look for posts about the blue under the table of the bottom left panel, and the quotation on the right edge). The label note is unfortunate, but the worst part....the rusted staple. Regardless, terrific book...I say enjoy as-is...
  12. Not exactly in the wild, but found these buried in a dealer’s box in Australia (that’s right, a FF52 in a box). I won’t advertise prices, but after the exchange rate and negotiations...I’m very pleased. The dealer was good people, super cool.
  13. It’s worth noting even though TMNT has a very low print run, it was an instantaneous hit, so a high percentage of those survived. Regardless, a monster book that I have immense nostalgia for...
  14. Marvel's top three objectives: 1) Make a profit, 2) Respect canon (Feige is a fanboy), and 3) Give every ethnicity, nationality, gender, etc... their shot on the big screen. What character checks all three boxes? As in: 1) Inspires, potentially, the largest portion of the consumer base?, 2) OG fans want to see, but haven't yet?, and 3) Embodies a group that hasn't been represented in the MCU? It's obvious, to me anyways...
  15. Thanks. Wish it had a drek filter...and it didn’t only show prices for 8.0 and up. BUT every resource helps...
  16. Crazy yields, yet alarmingly overshadowed by many... I’ve never owned this book despite IM being one of my staples as a kid. Wtf is wrong with me...
  17. Isn’t that all_things_comics chop shop? All those books look near perfect!!
  18. Ghostbusters 3 = July 10, 2020 (who cares....) Morbius = July 31, 2020 https://www.superherohype.com/movies/433733-sony-sets-morbius-and-ghostbusters-3-release-dates
  19. I neatly wrap the bagged & boarded book in newspaper first (much like wrapping a present, to include tape), that way there's no need to fold tape or worry about tape damage. When pulling the tape, it will simply rip the newspaper off without stressing the contents in the slightest (worst case). Painters tape always...
  20. Since we're talking Carnage. I'm in Australia and stumbled across a raw NM aussie edition ASM361 in a dealer's box. It didn't have a price, and when I asked him he quickly grabbed it and said it wasn't for sale...and that it wasn't supposed to be in the box. He said it was a $1200 book, I just checked and sure enough that's the last sale price of this book. Wowzers!! Had no idea...
  21. I also think that’s the one to own, if you were to choose...
