  1. I would think that a successful LCS has a turnover of new material - back issues/wall books included. That's because they make money off of what they have (by not charging 5x the FMV) and they can recirculate those funds into buying new collections, etc. It's all about cash flow. You've got to keep the cash moving to accumulate new and fresh inventory. When customers know that the inventory changes over regularly, they're more inclined to stop in often. I know I would. To keep a wall book on the wall for 2-3 years because you've over-inflated the price doesn't make for a successful business. You end up with money tied up in inventory you can't move and customers lose interest.
  2. ya - not sure when to let these go... what's the ideal time? once the trailer drops on the next spidey movie?
  3. Got this book back from CGC it was pressed and cleaned prior to grading and the thumb crease on the BC was completely removed
  4. I just got the book back from CGC today CGC 9.8 'error version'
  5. Just added these today and they're headed right into the vault
  6. Fresh from CGC A nice little batch of Carnage books
  7. 7.5-8.0, leaning more toward 7.5 due to the light staining and tanning
  8. I agree with comicquant - I don't see this going below VF... The images are small so it's hard to be sure. A clean will lift dirt... and I think a press would help the upper right corner on the BC Either way, great copy
  9. 2.0-2.5 and I agree with the above, no benefit from press/clean
  10. Betty! Congrats. + Thanks to all who put on such an entertaining and thrilling tournament - it was tons of fun!
  11. I initially had the ASM and the LL a touch higher.... I second guessed myself and then lower the grades before submitting...
  12. My guesses: 6.5, 9.0, 9.2, 7.0 a bit too low in each case .... Still very happy to have gone this far. Congrats @LordRahl and good luck going forward.
  13. that's what i was thinking. must be.... then whoever they play in the next round would get a BYE??

  15. your stand up rack is in incredible shape. Love how it's black too!
  16. Thanks. This one was advertised as a wall mount, which I think is really awesome. By removing the stand and adding the hose clamps, it's another way to display the books.
  17. If one were to want to buy a comic rack, what would a target price be? (assuming it's not restored and has expected signs of wear and aging) What's considered too much? I've seen a couple 60's racks go on eBay for around $250
  18. Consider the same question regarding classic cars from the 50's, 60's or 70's. It doesn't hurt the value to drive a restored car. I'd rather drive a restored 1968 Ford Mustang than a rust bucket
  19. could those racks hold CGC slabs? That would be awesome
