  1. Glad to see I am not the only one that does not have a problem completing runs with lower grade reading copies. (thumbs u
  2. Personal question, You do not have to answer, I will understand. Do you have anxiety issues besides the overwhelming comic books?
  3. What you are saying works great for 500 comics. This is much worse then that.....but can be figured out. Your from NJ. What time should I expect you? After I retire (6 years or so) and my Grandkids are all grown up and do not need me to be there with them every weekend.(youngest is 2,)
  4. My OCD would not allow my books to be left that way but you need to find a way to this so you are comfortable and it is not consuming your life, something I am very familiar with. If it were me I would start by placing all books on the floor in piles by title in alphabetical order and once all boxes are emptied and all books are layed out start with the A's and work your way down. Once they are layed you will be making progress and you will see that you are making progress and realize that you are becoming organized with a plan so you can do a little at a time and it will not seem as tedious. Before you know it the piles will get smaller and it will be done. I am in the process of re-photographing/grading/cataloging my books and that is also a very slow tedious process. Once I came up with a plan and a way to keep it organized on paper(actually on my computer) and in my head while I slowly accomplish this I was able to relax without anxiety over "it has to be done now".
  5. With the books I still need I am only looking for reading copies and they are still hard to find, especially hard to find at guide.
  6. Wondering if some of you guys/gals could take a look at my thread in the "Comics General" section and add some insight. Thread is titled... "F.F. ANNUAL #1 BINDERY/PRINTING DEFECT" Thanks In Advance
  7. The only "silly" question is the one that is not asked. Should not be a problem storing TPB's with your comics. Again, as long as the comics are in Mylites they will not be affected by anything around them, however... If you are looking for long term preservation of the TBP's I would separate them from each other. ALL paper products degrade by themselves over time and as they degrade produce acids that could affect the other books they touche if they are not separated. Ideally you want something stable like Mylar or Acid Free Boards in between them. The degrading process is very slow and the more stable the environment they are stored in the slower it will be. On the bright side of paper degrading... I Love the smell of "degrading paper" when I walk into a Comic Shop.
  8. Robot Man... I am LOVIN ALL of that, makes me feel all Warm and Fuzzy inside. Wanna be a kid again and go back to the 60's.
  9. A Completest to a point, I lost interest in certain titles as they got newer so I collect those titles to a certain issue and stop but I want all issues to that point. Examples... I only go to... #125 in Avengers #132 in D.D #200 in Incredible Hulk #200 in Thor #134 in Strange Tales(not a big fan of Nick Fury or Shield) #150 in Uncanny X-Men The Atlas Westerns that I am working on I am only interested in 10 cent covers.
  10. Do what my Son did because he just did not have room, store your books at your Dad's house.
  11. I am not a big Sub-Mariner fan but I do own a low grade copy of #4.
  12. Nice Find. One of my All Time Favorite Books and Covers.
  13. 60 on August 10. Been re-collecting since 79.
  14. Amazing Fantasy 15 Amazing Spider-Man 1 Avengers 1 Fantastic Four 1 X-Men 1
  15. If all of your books are stored in Mylites with Acid Free Boards it does not matter what type of box they are stored in since the box will never actually touch the book and it will not affect the preservation quality of the Mylite. The box is basically to keep the books stored properly standing front to back in the box and to keep out light (Ultra Violet, Florescent and Incandescent)
  16. Why stop at 102? The Inhumans really wind down at 150, the marriage of Crystal and Quicksilver, but the last, best arc finishes at 178, Galactus fighting the High Evolutionary to protect Counter-Earth, then kicking the Frightful Four out of their building when they get back. Why stop at 178??? Why not go to 416??? After that it was all fake with "Hero's Reborn" and the Title starting over, that's were my Son and I got off the bus. (Unfortunately No #1)
  17. STANDING OVATION... Great Accomplishment!!! I have completed issues 43 - 134 but still need 27 of the 42 from 1 - 42. With the price of these books continuing to climb I do not know that I will reach the plateau you reached even with me only looking for lower grade reading copies and that is why in my eyes it makes it such a Great Accomplishment.
  18. Nothing wrong with that copy at all. I have lots of "Reading Copies" because it makes/made collecting affordable for me especially with the older books I am now collecting and I would rather complete my runs than have high grade books with lots of holes in the series that I could never afford to fill.
  19. Because I stopped collecting Iron Man with the end of TOS I never saw that Iron Man 54 before... Lovin It!!!
  20. It is. I’m 100% sure, even if the picture is small to see well. Hey, that is the twin brother of mine… OK, Here is a larger pic.
