  1. Right or wrong, Thanks for responding. That was the subject of my thread a year ago, that I cannot even find a pic of the cover and now it seems as though the book never existed.
  2. Sad Sack Question...Again Hello, I opened a thread about a year ago asking about Sad Sack Armed Forces Complimentary Comics #12. The problem was/is that not only can I not find the book there is not even an image/picture of #12 anywhere online. You guys gave me suggestions as to where to look all to no avail. I check eBay twice a week and have been for over 2 years and nothing. Today I found this site with pics of all of the issues however... It skips right over #12, it is as if #12 never existed. Can anybody shed any light on this? Was #12 ever published/released? Is there anybody I can contact to find the answer? I did send an e-mail to this site... http://www.sadsack.net/ Here is the link to the covers that skip right over #12. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/sad-sack-comics/4050-33904/ Thank You
  3. Welcome to the Hobby!!! What are you collecting? It is tough to narrow it down since there are countless variables involved but there is info available. https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s?show=comicdefinitions https://comics.ha.com/c/ref/glossary.zx
  4. Grading is very subjective, that being said... A lot of my older keys are low grade reading copies. I just regraded all of my books in 2015 and here are examples of books I graded at .5 and 1.0. so you can see the difference. All of these books are complete so the major defects should be apparent. Hope this helps. https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s?show=comicdefinitions POOR .5 FAIR 1.0
  5. Same as it has been since August of 2015... Find a copy of "Sad Sack Armed Forces Complimentary Comics #12."
  6. via Imgflip Meme Generator ASM 252 is the first appearance of the black costume. Weeks later, the costume appeared in Spectacular Spider-Man and Marvel Team-Up. Months later - actually after Spidey discovered the truth and got rid of the symbiote - the story of how he got the costume was told in MSHSW 8. Venom('s arm) first appeared in shadows, messing with Peter/Spider-Man, in Web of Spider-Man 18 and 24. Eddie Brock's completely shadowed body (1 panel), mostly shadowed face (1 panel) and bare hands (being covered by the symbiote over 3 panels) first appeared at the end of ASM 298. ASM 300 is Venom's first full appearance. Did not mean to post inaccurate info, have not read any of these books in years and was using Overstreet as a reference. Kudos to you for knowing all of that, at this point in my life and collecting I barley even read the books, now it is just about filling the runs so knowing that kind of detail...
  7. "ASM 252 and 300 - First Venom/Eddie Brock" The first black costume for Spidey was Marvel Super Hero Secret Wars Vol. 1 #8 and the first appearance of Eddie Brock was ASM 297. ASM 252 was the first black costume in ASM and tied with Marvel Team Up 141 and Spectacular Spider-Man 90 for the first black costume in a regular title. Also... ASM - 3, 4, 6, 14 (First Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard, Green Goblin) F.F. 5 (First Doctor Doom) JIM 85 - (First Loki and Odin) JIM 88 - (First Full Odin) TTA - 27 (First Antman) TTA - 35 (First Antman in Costume) TTA - 49 (First Giant Man) The X-Men - 4 (First Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) Good Luck on your quest and enjoy!
  8. I remember seeing one on eBay a few years back when someone was selling Harvey File Copies but I still needed other issues at the time so I did not think much of it. I have not seen one since. It took me two years when I was looking exclusively for the last issue of Sad Sack And The Sarge that I needed to complete my .10 cover run so I know eventually the #12 will show up. I used to obsess over this stuff but not anymore.
  9. On the advice of a member I checked Pinterest but came up empty, still looking.

  17. When I started reading comics as a kid it was Harvey and Archie and for whatever reason I was drawn to Sad Sack Comics. About 10 years ago I decided to recapture my youth with the books I enjoyed before I started with "Super Hero's" and the books that captured the TV's shows/Memories of my youth like Beany and Cecil, Tom Terrific, Adventures Of The Big Boy, etc, so naturally Sad Sack Comics as well. It has taken that long to accumulate all of the issues.
