  2. Kinda wish I'd seen this before the auction ended. I would have been very tempted. FF #112 CGC 9.0 Double Cover $227
  3. You've earned an enemy for life with that comment.
  4. Congrats, Ian! So, have you let Christine Farrell know?
  5. Congrats! So how many of your comic books will you be selling to pay for baby expenses?
  6. 35 cent variants discovered! http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_article.asp?ai=9137&si=121 This week, Scoop brings you a look at two rare Marvel 35-cent price variants that serious Bronze Age collectors have questioned the existence of. The background on the 35 cent price variants is that one exists for each Marvel Comic published for five months prior to the to the actual cover price increase. The purpose of these issues was to test the consumers resistance to the pending price change. Overstreet advisor and Warehouse Auction Centers Vice President Fred McSurley has discovered the missing two 35 cent variants. The list of 35 cent variants totals 184 issues and these two now complete the list. Unlike their 30 cent price variant counterparts the 35 cent variants are difficult to observe as they do not stand out with major cover variations. Numerous collectors have contributed to organizing a complete list of 30 and 35 cent variants. Collector Paul Merolle's website features a complete list of these issues. 7. Tired of that book yet? Just send me a pm. My copy is looking for a companion.
  8. "When bidding wars go bad!" Love that cover, but 2X guide is
  9. So is Goldust. Only one I've seen (not that I've been looking) was sold by Heritage in 3/02.
  10. That's interesting to hear as I've heard Frazetta keeps most of his original artwork. Any idea what it sold for? I'm not sure if it sold or not. The estimate was $80,000 - $100,000. It was the 1996 Sotheby's Comic & Comic Art Auction (Sale #6872). If you only buy ONE comic auction catalog, buy this one. It includes (among other things), the original cover art for Mask Comics #1 & #2, Hit Comics #5, Zap #1, Hawkman #1, Brave & Bold #61, title splash for TOS #39. Frazetta pieces include concept cover art for Vampirella #1, cover art for Famous Funnies #209, Tim Holt #17, and this oil painting "Savage World".
  11. The art was sold at Sothebys in the 90's. There's a comic auction catalog with that cover art on it.
  12. Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural on Amazon "This bargain of a book is a thick hardcover anthology--more than 1,000 pages long--containing stories of naturalistic and supernatural terror. First published in 1944, it has stood the test of time and become a classic in the field. Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural is rivaled only by David G. Hartwell's The Dark Descent as the essential horror anthology. Fortunately, there's little overlap: of the 52 tales in this anthology, only 5 are duplicated in The Dark Descent. Included here are such memorable stories as W.W. Jacobs's "The Monkey's Paw"; Saki's "Sredni Vashtar" and "The Open Window"; Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game"; Conrad Aiken's "Silent Snow, Secret Snow"; Arthur Machen's "The Great God Pan"; along with gems by E.F. Benson, H.G. Wells, Ambrose Bierce, Rudyard Kipling, Walter de la Mare, M.R. James, Guy de Maupassant, and O. Henry." Average Customer Review: Will have to check it out.
  13. Quit draggin' your feet already and pony up! One of the few series that is actually "worth it". Got any Warrior Mags for sale, Chris?
  14. Saw this on eBay... http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimag...&pt=bidpay&sp=1 Also saw this online... As far as Creepy mags themselves, #1-#16 and #50-#90 are supposed to be some of the best and would what I'd like to read. The cover to #17 is my favorite.
  15. You stated in an earlier thread you were Heterosexual. Are you sure? This coming from a "man" who wears a skirt. Lets get this straight Mr. october_Fire If a kilt is a skirt. How come you never see any women wearing them with their sporrons? I'm the Englishman here and I have to tell you that it's spelt sporran??? I've actually worn one and I didn't know what they were called. Anyway. Back to the comics. Nice FF, SS.
  16. You stated in an earlier thread you were Heterosexual. Are you sure? This coming from a "man" who wears a skirt. "It's called a Kilt!"
  17. Looking forward to it! Indeed. Haven't found a picture of it anywhere on the internet. Here's an ad I found, though.
  18. So in the end, you settled for less than VF. Glad you finally got one. Of course, it's not as nice as my 9.0. Thanks. Took long enough! Check your PM... Check your PM.
