  1. Some of the artists you can contact through their websites and commission a piece. You can also go to a Transformers themed convention. Most of the artists attend Botcon. That's the big TF con.
  2. Has there been any talk of restarting the Spotlight books? Those were some of my favorites because it gave screen time to characters who weren't always in the forefront of the main books.
  3. You are correct. I guess this is my "Grail" since it it the last one missing from the run. Good luck. I've only found one person who claims to have one and he isn't budging whenever I inquired about him selling it.
  4. That sounds unnecessarily convoluted. Especially all the retconning that will happen.
  5. I'm not going to pick up any of the Revolution books that aren't specifically in the TF line. I can't justify it. MASK was cool when I had some of the toys in the 80s. I like GI Joe but haven't gone out of my way to read it since Image/DDP had the license in the early to mid 2000s. I very much enjoy reading the IDW G1 books, but it's hard to enjoy when Hasbro runs interference because they have some toy scheme in mind. I just want to get past this little merged continuity and get back to reading good stories that hopefully won't involve Snake Eyes teaming with Cobra Commander to take out Predaking or something.
  6. I feel like I was fortunate to find one in the back issue bin of a local shop for $6. It graded to a CGC 9.8. Kinda nuts to see what those are going for.
  7. Can I call dibs on your Orion Pax RI and #9 Auto Assembly variant? We'll see how it goes with the new direction. Usually when the Good Idea Fairy shows up, stupid things follow.
  8. I thought I had seen an RO #81 RI-B that was blank, but it was actually an RID #1 RI-B. This is the first time I have even seen a RO #100 RI-B ever. I'm keeping one for my collection. I may commission a piece on it as a tribute to Herb. Maybe a Hulk #181 cover swipe or something. I don't know. I need to see how they look when they arrive.
  9. I ordered some blank covers of Regeneration One #100 from the Trimpe estate. I'll let you all know the condition of them when they arrive, so if anyone needs one for their collection, I'm willing to help you guys out. These will be blank. Unfortunately, no sketches. I've yet to see a Trimpe sketch for RO #100.
  10. The random gestalts was a straight Hasbro thing. That's unfortunate about Hasbro's continued interference with MASK, et al in the TF universe. Never was opposed to GI Joe popping up from time to time. I am probably just used to that going back to when Marvel published both titles. I may have to check out from the series if all the toys end up in the same toybox.
  11. I am very much enjoying the Dying of the Light storyline in MTMTE. I was enjoying All Hail Optimus until TF #53. I found it got cheesy at the end of the issue. Till All are One #1 was a pretty good read. I liked the art much more than the last Windblade series. I'm looking forward to seeing how the murder-mystery plot plays out. Unfortunately I also saw an ad for combing Transformers, MASK, etc. Any word on if the continuity will be combined or if it will be separate? I'm hoping separate, but IDW may feel some need to keep their 1980s toy lines together.
  12. There's a second RE cover. Another Marvel Transformers #1 homage. Montreal Comic Con edition. I'll find one at some point because I am a sucker for this type of stuff. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:TAAO1_cvrREB.jpg
  13. Milne is solid. I really enjoyed the artwork for both incentive covers for Till All Are One with Milne's taking the top spot. I'm hoping that both of the 1:25 covers that I ordered are NM/NM+. My experience with both Midtown and GC is that brand new stuff tends to arrive in gorgeous condition. If it's more than a couple months old, then it's a crapshoot. Like you said though, Diamond is also known to destroy books during delivery to the store. Unfortunately my LCSs that I frequent don't order that many copies for the 1:25. They barely order enough for the 1:10, and that is usually pulled for other people's want lists. I ordered the Transmission cover as well. I really like the homage to the Blaster vs Straxus cover from Marvel. From the preview pic, the colors really seemed to pop off the page. It'll be less than 400 copies for sure on the 1:25, but will the demand be there? I only ask because, even though this technically isn't a Windblade title, it's still the same creative team. We all saw how that went. Hopefully this title tears it up because it has enough material to a solid entry in the IDW-verse.
  14. That book is what we call a GHOST. You hear of it, but it is never seen. They say they are the leftovers from Daniel Khanna's signing that IDW did for the RI-B covers, and would be a leaked out book if not drawn on. Speaking of a Ghost, the Alex Milne 1:25 from 'Till All Are One #1 out this Wednesday is also a Ghost. This may be the next MTMTE #19 R.I. of the modern Transformers collector. I had found a second copy in the UK, someone nabbed it before I could. I have only one copy on order, I hope it comes high grade! Good luck on the hunt out there for this one if you are after it. Shout out to Futureflash, you should have that book by now! If I had known it was you I would have mylite packed it, but it was packed and gone before you messaged me! I would check Midtown Comics if you are looking for one. They still seemed to have a couple of copies left for order. I should be getting one from them and one from Graham Crackers. Give it a few months to determine if it reaches MTMTE #19 RI status. That book was a B to get. Speaking of ghosts, though, Drift #4 Central Canada Comic Con variant. Has anyone seen that or gotten one? That one is #22 RI levels of ghostly.
  15. I ordered one 1:25 cover from Midtown Comics just to be on the safe side if my subscription from the store doesn't pay off with it. More than that, I just want the title to succeed.
  16. Like, full on blank and no sketch? I've only seen one totally blank #81. You could ask IDW. I believe that there are a few blanks floating around somewhere. I
  17. I've pretty much given up on the #22 RI unless I fall backwards into it. That little rarity is a burden to find. The #9 RE and Orion Pax RI are odd. There are a 1000 copies of the #9, yet it hardly ever pops up. I haven't seen an Orion Pax RI in over 2 years and some change. I guess patience is key. And I feel you about the vendors getting annoyed with it at shows. They tend to act like it draws away from everything else.
  18. Does anyone have an extra copy of Spotlight Orion Pax RI, or #9 Auto Assembly variant that they want to part with? These books have been tough to come by. I still haven't seen a listing for an OP RI since right when the book came out. Last one I saw for the #9, it was such a rag I couldn't justify it. MTMTE #19 seems more common by comparison.
  19. . I hope you guys like the cover. I'm here to answer questions if there are any. I like it. Nice colors and a nice throwback to the Blaster vs Straxus cover from the original Marvel series. It's safe to say that I will be purchasing this. Congratulations for being the first (I think) TF podcast to commission a cover from IDW. Out of curiosity, when you commission a cover, do you have to order a certain amount and have an artist in mind? Or would you just contact Wildman/Griffith/Milne/etc with an idea for a cover? Are you guys involved in the creative process? It's just something that I've found interesting.
  20. I always get damaged books from those guys when ordering directly. Shame, some nice covers usually. Man, you are NOW getting to the GOODS. Formerly RIS is in their stride by 47, and MTMTE is still setting up plot points for the current arc in issues 50+ (and the next 40 too). H&F has been hit and miss with me when they send me stuff. Basically, 66% of the time they send stuff that isn't jacked up. That other 33% they send stuff that looks like the Macho Man came off the top rope onto it. I'll take a chance on that cover. MTMTE is keeping me hooked right now. The former RID is good, but definitely more of a slow burn.
  21. The art turned me off of Windblade. I'm looking forward to it enough because I remember the writing not be in atrocious. I know a new toy-based storyline should hit soon. Titan's Return maybe? There's a pretty slick cover for MTMTE #52. Heroes and Fantasies/ACCC exclusive. Here's the link. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:MTMTE52_cvrRE.jpg
  22. Transformers #52 has a Phase 6 exclusive. I've been trying to locate information as to which retailers will be selling it, but I've come up with nothing so far.
  23. Combiner Wars was ok. It had Hasbro written all over it. The former RID title is solid and lately has been holding my attention more. MTMTE had to grow on me as well. Now, I love the book. The writing has been great. It can still be deep and introspective but it still retains that swashbuckling tone. On the other hand, Sins of the Wreckers hasn't been doing much for me. It's unfortunate because I loved Last Stand of the Wreckers.
