  1. Those are awesome sketches. So, I've tried contacting Alex Milne for a sketch commission, but never heard back. Is there a proper channel to go through or did you just see them at a show and commission the pieces then? I'd really like to get some done, I just don't know how to go about it.
  2. I only found out in the last few years how bad Dreamwave was in its business dealings. I remember liking the second G1 mini series and the War Within stuff was decent, at least concept-wise. I'd probably be disappointed if I went back and reread them. Might be a goal for me this week.
  3. Not really due to the shady nature of the way Pat Lee ran it and his reputation right into ground. That's not to say that some of the DW stuff doesn't have some merit. I might go start another thread for the non-IDW TF stuff.
  4. Has anyone read the new series yet? I have only read the newest issue of Till All Are One.
  5. I have a few books that CGC just verified. This is the first time I've used their fast pass service. I've used fast pass across the street, and to be honest, I think it might be the only way to go. I get impatient when I have some books in that I would really like to know the grades on. Anyways, Transformers #9 RE (x2), 22 RI, and More than Meets the Eye #19 RI are ready to get looked at. Maybe I can get that first CGC 10.
  6. Ript Apparel has an exclusive. An homage to the classic painted cover of Transformers #5. Art is by Tim Lim. Ript Exclusive
  7. Do the release dates for Optimus Prime and Lost Light keep getting pushed back? I think I saw mid to late December now. I swear I saw Optimus Prime was supposed to be released this upcoming week.
  8. No kidding. It looks like we're heading back to the 90's on this. Has anyone seen the recent listings on ebay for the Transformers #1 Change variant? Transformers #1 Change Into a Truck Another with an even more ridiculous price tag. The one that is $249.99, I could possibly see being realistic. The other one, not at all. I've bought from that seller before and was not impressed. I bought one for $10 two years ago and it graded out to a CGC 9.6. Is there a ceiling for the variants? I'm seeing some of the same signs that led to the market crash in the mid-90's popping back up.
  9. Pre-ordered Optimus Prime and Lost Light 1:50 covers the other day to be safe. Thanks for the heads up, Maximus.
  10. I may have to set up a preorder at another store to make sure that I can get the 1:50 copy. My LCS sure as heck isn't ordering 50 copies of either title.
  11. I finished reading MTMTE and self-titled in the last few days. MTMTE wasn't bad. S/T series just didn't have that same pop after a while. Both felt somewhat rushed to me. Till All Are One has been a real page turner for me. I can't wait for the new series launches. Especially since I have those RI books on my preorder. Anone reading Revolution? I decided to give it a miss. Felt a little too Hasbro-driven in the filler stories. Thoughts?
  12. I was unable to attend TFCON due to family reasons, but if anyone attended and has any opinion on TF comics there, that'd be great.
  13. They had an ebay store set up at one point. The handle was idw_publishing. I don't know the last time they put something up in there. I bought the majority of my Spotlight RI books, along with RI sets of Escalation, Stormbringer and Devastation.
  14. I'm calling bullcrap on that price tag. I purchased the entire set from IDW for $30 back in the day. My impression was that it was #4RI that was the most difficult to acquire.
  15. I should be receiving my copies of the final issues of the two main series by the weekend. Looking forward to that. Other than that, it's been a pretty slow time for me. Hopefully that changes soon.
  16. I think I got confused somewhere, and I apologize if that spread to anyone else. My MTMTE 57 books are all in my pull list including the RI. Yeah, I see that about the swapped covers. Hopefully, it's nothing to sweat over. I've seen that on other sites before.
  17. Looking at Midtown, it's possible that the RI issue was delayed. They're only showing the regular and sub covers in stock. I thought I was looking at something wrong as well, but the regular book for Transformers #57 is showing as not being available until next week. Diamond delays? Production delays? Hasbro getting their grubby fingers even more involved? Transformers 57 Midtown
  18. I'm seeing two different release dates for TF #57. Today (9/28) and 10/5. Previews and Graham Crackers say today, and Midtown is saying 10/5. It's not on my invoice for my pull list at Graham Crackers.
  19. Welcome to the thread! That's a gorgeous copy of AHM #1. I really dig this cover homage. A nice copy of Killing Joke to go with it. I have one 10 book and it was one of the Soundwave RI books. I don't think I can post the pic here (different grading company), but I was stoked. I enjoyed a lot of the sketch covers for the Spotlight series, so nice to see that I'm not the only one who gets those slabbed. I think the high grade copies are sharp looking in the slab.
  20. I sent Alex Milne a message through Deviantart. I just want to get a feel for the process. So, I pitched the idea to him. Hopefully, he responds in some way. I've really been keen on his G1 work. I think he's gotten better as the series has progressed. Definitely one of the top TF artists IMO.
  21. I definitely will. I tried to buy a ticket, but the site to register is charging $30 for admission when the website says $20. I sent them a message asking which is correct. I don't need the early bird access. I'll pay at the door if I need to. I just don't want to drive 5 hours and I can't get in, but I also don't feel like overpaying either. On a fun note, I was thinking of a sketch or something to get. I have a few blanks that I could bring. I was thinking on getting a connecting sketch between two artists. Something fun. I don't know if it's possible or the cost, but I think it's a fun idea. I was thinking some kind of play on the dogs playing poker. I could talk to Milne, Coller and Griffith about the logistics of it.
  22. If I go, I can give a better report. It'll be a lot of driving for nothing. I'll think about it and I will let you all know. If I go, you all can send reasonable want lists to me.
