Production value looks good, but I'm not sure that I like the suit. I'll give it a chance (sorry Black Widow, Hawkeye). During the holidays, my younger brother told me that he's trying to get into Moon Knight comics. "He's basically Marvel Batman". Lol, yup.

*Waves pocket-watch in front of you*

    You are getting sleepy.

    You love the costume.

    You love the costume......

  2. The X-Men animated series was HUGE. That got me into the comics, and figures. I'd never read modern X-Men before, only the older Marvel Masterworks my library had. They had the good stuff, like Kirby FF, OG X-Men, and the first volume or so of the new X-Men. I LOVED the Fantastic Four. It was an interesting time in the comic, with Reed dead and Sue in charge. I really believed he was dead. I was wistful about the past, how is missed out on the glory days with Reed on the team. Issue 400 had his funeral, so that sealed the deal for me. He was absolutely not coming back, right?

They also got a cartoon, which I watched, even though it was pretty bad, and of course I bought the figures. The cartoon was so bad even the comic was talking down about it. Fantastic Four was my monthly staple. Then some X-Men stuff. I had events like Age Of Apocalypse, Onslaught, man, I still get nostalgic rereading the omnibus' of them today (I still have all the issues, the omnis are just more convenient).

Yeah she read all the books and chose that one line to totally define the movie while ignoring most everything else.  First we get your claim about christopher Nolan's statement in a pitch meeting now this.   I dont think it's wise to put words in people's mouths you have never met.

I'm actually wondering if he might have been thread-banned, Kav. It's a distinct possibility. Just a feeling.

Not taking any side here but just curious-would comics about "women being women" also be yuck?

Quite possibly. It's the 'being women' that'd be an issue. Certainly if it had feminist overtones, then that's a definite problem, and that's the kind of political comic that is ruining the industry etc etc etc. By feminist its really just 'women being women and not being totally subservient to men at every oplortunity.' Remember what sparked it all was a photo of women having a darn milkshake. How that equals destroying the comics industry I have no idea.

That example is unrelated to the subject here. Comics have become watered down in recent years for the sake of "tolerance" but have at the same time become intolerant of so many other things that there is hardly anything left to construct a story around. It reminds me of when I spent six weeks in China, and everyone was afraid to say what was on their mind. Military police were everywhere, and everyone was watched by their neighbors. It was quite unsettling.

Let's just call a spade now that you've introduced it here. He's a member of the alt-right Comicsgate 'movement' which is still going on, just on such a small scale it hardly bears mention. That's why I cringed at the mention of Chuck Dixon, that's where his most recent work has been, but I didn't want to judge you on 1 book alone. Now you've made your stance clear.

The whole thing started because a photo circulated of a group of female Marvel employees having a milkshake in honour of legendary Marvel assistant Flo. This set off a group of guys who didn't want women in their comics, and the stupidest movement ever was born. It's supposed to be about taking politics out of comics, like Stan Lee. Of course, we could all show a hundred examples of Lee getting political for his time, and he never shied away from such themes. It's about sexism, mysogyny, racism, the usual -isms. Ethan Van Sciver is kinda it's leader. They call him Caesar. Seriously. Looking at Paqart's book he linked shows what is believed to be a non-political book suitable for everyone, like in the good old days of Marvel.

So no, I don't think your rubbish belongs here, but that's not for me to say, and this will be my only post on it. For more info, google it, folks.

I genuinely wish you well, Paqart, and that you can see through the BS you're living atm. You're talented and creative, you could be doing so much more.
