  1. That LCS owner seemed pretty agreeable to let that 181 go, for what was mostly $1 books. I wonder how much he was into it for? He probably had 1/2 more in a higher grade in back. Maybe the Len Wein signature turned him off.
  2. You mean like the greatness of Steve Balboni?
  3. Thanks for sharing. Lots of good points in the article. Definitely too much product. You know, variants mean nothing to me. Zero, zip, zilch, nada. I could have walked by a variant at some point in my collecting, that I could have picked up for say $25-$50 and it may be worth hundreds in today's secondary market, and guess what....I still sleep just fine.
  4. If memory serves, the floating head was his fake wife who turned out to be a life model decoy. That is essentially her mask that covered the metallic robotedness. And what is with Steve's arm? It looks like the elbow became dislocated.
  5. Just curious, what's the buy in on a Church copy. I am not a Golden Age collector, but always thought it would be fun to own a copy. Do you pay a premium for a Church CGC label (ie. if you have two CGC'd books of the same grade, one is a Church copy, does it cost more due to the lore)?
  6. I always go back to Avengers 55. People were wetting themselves due to Ultron's first appearance, Avengers movie etc. It has come down quite a bit from a few years ago. Do we expect the same from Iron Man 55?
  7. Much like PSA that is why CGC exists. Some experienced sellers can be very accurate. Others can be liberal with their grades.
  8. This topic is so old, I am not even seeing the great variant vs. print run master-debators.
  9. At least with an encapsulated coin, you can read EVERYTHING, unlike an encapsulated comic.
  10. Yeah, I am a little surprised at the IH #1 and #2 prices in the secondary market. It's a decent read, but I don't think it sustains.
  11. Just a thought, paint the walls? I find a darker color on the walls really help the room pop more, once you start putting things on it.
  12. Found this in my LCS dollar box. Kind of cool being a Golden Age comic and all. For those not in the know- Major Inapak The Space Ace was a one-shot give-away comic used as a promotional piece for a vitamin fortified chocolate drink called INAPAK.
  13. Must be hurting for money. Can't even afford a new light bulb.
  14. In no order: Jack Kirby Steve Ditko John Romita Jim Steranko Alex Ross Jim Lee George Perez Neal Adams John Buscema Kelley Jones
  15. Oh man, I think I was there once a looooonnnnnng time ago. I think they had sports cards as well. They had 2 Chicago Cubs signing autographs that evening- Jaime Moyer and the great Andre Dawson.
