  1. Sounds like a Bad Ommen (sorry you are going through this. People can be such weasels.)
  2. About 4 years ago, I sold a good chunk of my collection to buy an old classic car. I put my comics on CL. It was priced good, I had to move it fast, to secure the car. The first person to contact me seemed like a nice guy, said he wanted to take a look and set up a time. I got a lot of interest, (Silver/Bronze/Modern all mixed in, some keys), but I made a list of the order of the interested parties, in which they contacted me. Told them all, that the first guy who contacted me has first dibs. Before he arrived another person contacted me, and said that they would give me an extra $200 to sell it to them. I told them, sorry, we have a line. He said 'too bad' and even sent me a picture of his $100's spread out on a bed (like that was supposed to wow me or something?!?). I sold it to the first gentleman, at the listed price on CL, didn't care about the extra $200 because I am a man of my word. Not saying this for any other reason, than to show that it can be done without whoring yourself out.
  3. The Key word that society keeps losing. Etiquette. We as hobbyists need to enforce it.
  4. Nothing excites me less than human error in the manufacturing process. Unless of course somebody wants to give ME $1.5 mil.
  5. Disney is currently producing & developing plans for Marvel attractions in Disneyland & their European properties (can't do Disney World due to Universal Studios agreement). So you can believe they have an interest in the Marvel property staying strong both movie & in print.
  6. We can't even be courteous to each other in stores, garage sales, in traffic, school, work etc. Comics are an escape and supposed to be fun. You are NOT the only collector out there, so if somebody is ahead of you, let them have their minute, if there is anything left, it's yours. Get in line. There is a process. I think this pretty much sums up the Zombie Apocalypse and how it goes down. It's the bullies that continue to try and get their way. I like to think we grew out of this in the last 100 years or so, but it's just more of the same.
  7. I am giving it a try. But I don't know if this will be a regular pull.
  8. Neither interest me and are just a regurgitation of said Spiderman and Wolverine (but with some newer/millenial edge ). But we don't need to re-hash that. It's been re-hashed, so to each his own. Just feel like the House of Ideas is running out of ideas by jamming the Hulk and Wolverine into one character. (Carnage-Goblin too).
  9. Much like Miles Morales, I don't see much need for this character. It would have made more sense to turn Banner into this if anything.
  10. Regular price I might add, not this silly variant pricing. Now about the insides....
  11. Weapon H #1- I bought a copy. Didn't want to. Didn't need to. But my LCS said it was actually a pretty good read. So I bought one. I also understand that m LCS wants to move new comics as quick as possible. Anybody else read it? Did you like it? Hide your comments if spoilers are coming so others don't get mad.
  12. I feel like this is almost as bad as complaining if there is a scratch on the polypropylene bag of a regular old comic in bag and board. I mean don't these CGC cases get switched out by people once they make the next new & improved modification anyway? Glad I'm not anal retentive, & sleep pretty good at night.
  13. And that my friends, is what makes certain online comic shops more reputable than others. Smart move MCS.
  14. Spawn #1 not far behind (more of those in 9.8 I'm sure though).
  15. That's like Low Blood Sugar Stan.
  16. Don't be so hard on yourself, you have seen the light, rejoice & be glad. During the 1980's my mom had some Bradford Exchange Collectors Plates, the theme was Gone With The Wind. Inside the shipments of her newest plate, they included some typed up data, showing 'the secondary market', and how much these things were supposedly selling for. There was no way to verify this (keeping in mind the internet didn't quite exist). So if she bought a plate last month, in her newest shipped box it showed that sheet and, 'oh my, a recent sale of this plate was $11 more than what I just paid'. Again...how? I was too young at the time to give a care, but I though it was fishy. It was all trumped up demand by the Bradford Exchange. That's how I feel about variants (Marvel). But at least they have ebay, and auctions to sort of track this. But I think the variant crowd are a bunch of hyper active children who missed their Ritalin doses.
  17. We have various rooms at my place of employment. One room has 4 employees, and 3 of them are smokers. The smokers naturally can only smoke outside in designated areas. I swear to god, it smells like a stale 1970's bar in that room. The after affects of the smoke just settles in their chairs, their keyboards, the walls, and the cubicle fabric. Awful.
  18. It's a variant. The variant sales process relies on at least one sucker to keep the ongoing pyramid scheme of inflated value.
  19. Or take up smoking so it matches everything else in your life. ( I seriously don't understand how smokers don't realize that their habit permeates everything they wear, own and use).
