  1. I always felt like this run was over-rated, and over priced. Including #10.
  2. Hmmm...mixed feelings on this. Kind of goes back to other conversations about the 'old days'. Comic Conventions in small hotel conference rooms (typically a Holiday Inn), about 20 tables of guys just selling comics, you'd be lucky if there was 1 artist or writer there. No costumes, no vape sales, no pretense, and nobody cared about your race, gender or sexual preference. With growth comes growing pains. If these people feel like they need a special group, then have at it. I'm so busy with my head buried in long boxes I don't notice any of the other stuff, and frankly don't care much either.
  3. Yeah, that was kind of funny, oxymoronic even (or just moronic, which has been Marvel these last dozen years).
  4. Oh brudder.....Iron Man #1 (with some artwork I can do without). https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/03/05/tony-stark-iron-man-slott-schiti-delgado/ If Captain America goes back to #1, I officially will give up trying to file Marvel in any order.
  5. His eyesight is terrible, but you are correct. It's almost like he aims for the face. Maybe that is the clearest thing on the cover he can make out?! Weird.
  6. Welcome to Hell (aka Marvel Publishing Logic). It's bad enough they are renumbering, but we are graced with Nick Spencer writing this title. The same Nick Spencer that gave us Secret Empire, to service his SJW agenda. Only to unravel it all with the Cosmic Cube. He is such a tool . The Amazing Spider-Man #1 by Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley arrives in June from Marvel Comics.
  7. But...but...but...it's RARE! Therefore, it must be good.
  8. I'm good. This forum & chat was therapeutic.
  9. All depends on that 181 condition.
  10. I am curious if those people with 'Buy' ads on CL, do any business that is noteworthy. Someone who isn't versed in comics probably doesn't run to CL looking for buyers. They probably just hit up their local comic store first.
  11. Also, just because something is slabbed doesn't make it automatically desirable. Too many people send off insignificant or mid grade books that really have no business being encased in CGC plastic. Example- "Hey look your Fantastic Four #103 came back a 6.0....good for you". Nobody cares, (unless you are a 6.0 completeist).
  12. Nothing but love for my fellow boardies (except those variant creeps. They annoy).
  13. Yeah maybe, but it looked like his post was up for quite awhile (I don't remember how long, I have since purged any correspondence from my machines). I do also find it funny that he had some clear shots of many books, but just a little slice of 181 peeking through, barely noticeable...was that by design. He had other Hulks more clearly shown, numbers/covers showing etc. What are the odds....
  14. And we are all the better for it.
  15. Well congrats to you, but nothing on his correspondence indicated he would be around until Wednesday. I'll give you $126for the Hulk
  16. And I got a flat tire last night. This has been the week from hell.
  17. This has all been very therapeutic btw.. Thx everyone.
  18. Ok, this is the best image I had with multiple croppings and zoomings. In between the Hulks you see the sliver of hope...
  19. I mean it was hard to tell, but I definitely felt there was some stuff I could have used in my collection. For $100, it wasn't the money, just more the thrill of the hunt, and seeing what exactly he had. Again, I would have handled it differently if I was the seller. It's not like I said, 'Oh anytime after Tuesday, how about 10 days from that?'.
  20. I guess my problem is, I was working within his parameters. He said he was traveling and anytime AFTER Tuesday (I thought that meant Wednesday). He should have given me a chance to come by Tuesday night, I mean I would have. It's really a head scratch for me. I am trying to look on the bright side, but I feel like people just don't communicate well, or keep their word anymore. Maybe I am too old school. I think I am done with CL searches.
  21. I get that. But the way he phrased it was, anytime AFTER Tuesday. If he got a call Tuesday night and some guy said I can come tonight, I (personally) would have said, I got a guy schedule for Wednesday at noon, but if that falls through I will let you know. I dunno....that's just me. That is what I was hoping for. Atta boy! I'm starting to feel better.
  22. So the guy on the left is Max Anderson. I never really got a good vibe from him at the Stan Lee signings I've been to. He definitely is an anti-photo nazi, even if you are 100 feet away.
  23. So, I need opinions. I saw a local Craigslist ad on Saturday. I have never bough comics via CL. Some guy had some comics spread out on his bed, lots of Bronze Age, some Copper, some Modern. Said 196 in all, but only about 100 pictured. There were a lot of Horror, Kung Fu, but also some superhero. He had some ASM, including 3rd Punisher, Captain America, and even some old Hulk 25 centers. I could not tell if 181 was in the picture, if it was it certainly wasn't obvious. He wanted $100 for all of it. All books looked like FN+ at best. I was interested in taking a look so I texted him on Saturday. He informed me he was out of town, but any time after Tuesday would work. I told him I can swing by on Wednesday, during my lunch hour if that was ok. He said 'Sounds good, just text me Wednesday morning, and I will give you my address'. So I keep looking at the picture, and I am 75% sure there is a Hulk 181 in the stack. Never owning one, I am sorta looking forward to seeing for sure if he had one. So Tuesday night at about 10:30 pm, he sends me a text and says----'Sorry, but somebody came by and bought the comics'...?!??!?! WTF, I cleared extra time off with my work for my lunch hour just to make a trip, and somehow he miraculously was able to show them Tuesday night to somebody. Did I get undercut? Did some weasel text him and offer him 3x his asking price if he could come by and buy the lot that night?! I am kind of frustrated, because I have sold some things on CL before (comics, musical instruments, antiques), and I always slot people whoever calls first, gets first crack. Is this normal? Or was I not aggressive enough? I thought he said anytime 'After Tuesday', meant Wednesday was open. Maybe I just need to act like a jerk more often, push little old ladies out of the way during a fire drill, and trip the handicap kid in the grocery store. Sincerely, Bummed in FLA.
