  1. I am sure it's tedious. I don't particularly care if they shiny new bags and boards. Just any old bag and board would suffice, (with some type of organization to it).
  2. I think the dealer that bags and boards $1 books, will ultimately have more to $how for it at the end of the day.
  3. Pffft...I hate Flipping flippers, flipping to flipping flippers
  4. Also important. It always about the 'next ones', that keep the hobbies going. If you run out of dance partners, you will not be able to sell at what you perceive the FMV to be. We were talking at the LCS today about the current state of the hobby, and how the kids are just not there. We talked about Baseball cards. Do you think in 25 years Millenials will be plunking down $500, $1000, $10,000 for Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays cards? My nephews, in their early 20's, don't even watch Baseball. Look at vintage model train or stamp collectors (per the NY Times the average age of a stamp collector, is 65 to 70 years old).....those hobbies have shrunk dramatically over the last 20 years. My LCS owner felt like comics were going back to a 1990's type crash soon. The one thing that comics has going for it right now is the movies, but again, it's not the kids coming in. It's more speculators buying up variants, first appearances and hot Silver/Bronze Age books, only to flip. Look at the price of Black Panther comics right now. You could pick up Bronze Age BP #1 by Kirby's in NM+, for about $30 ten years ago. I just saw a 9.8 hit over $900 on ebay. Once the movie dies down, things will settle down (maybe with the exception of FF 52). Maybe the foreign markets will pick up the slack. Strange days indeed.
  5. I'm sure it would be viable, just depends on how big they wanted to be (and how busy they wanted to get). Also the Signature thing they do is a big piece. I just hate seeing common books, non key Moderns or mediocre, non key Silver/Bronze Age books slabbed, just because some collector got a bug in their pants.
  6. To be fair, there is not a ton of room on this cover for a black sharpie. I guess over the Hyrda guy, but this cover has a lot of dark space or it's pretty busy.
  7. You will get the hang of it. As stated, there are tools at your disposal, to kind of navigate the minefield. Like anything else, it makes sense to comparison shop, use online sites, talk to your LCS people, talk here. Isn't this the same book, at Buy It Now in the same grade for $90? https://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-40-2015-CGC-9-8-DEATH-OF-BATMAN-JOKER-VARIANT-COVER-THE-MASK-HOMAGE/272978882831?hash=item3f8ecf310f:g:krAAAOSwY~1aLtgb
  8. So are these only available online? Or actually in stores? I haven't been to a Wal-Mart in months (it's been bliss).
  9. I look at comic cleaning & pressing like plastic surgery. It can be a crapshoot, and doesn't always mean your pretty great book comes back at a better grade than before.
  10. Gwenpool gets her own box?! Seriously. How much is Wally World asking for these?
  11. Just saw/read it. How insanely awful. It's important , especially for the elderly, to find a good person (or people) to help navigate finances, when it comes to $$$$. These people are just scumbag opportunists. How many people on these boards, with a financial background, would have loved the opportunity help Stan and his estate, and do it with dignity? Some of this falls on the daughter. She sounds like an air head.
  12. Once I saw the bottom corner, I was going with 3.5.
  13. Cryptocurrency to money is what Modern variants are to comics. No thanks. I'll stick with the Blue Chips, you chase the unicorn.
  14. Well with the debacle of Secret Empire, forced diversity, and eliminating the mainstays....only to have the VP David Gabriel blame the readers for slumping sales, I would say plenty was going wrong. I think the last 6 years under Alonso at Marvel, will go down as some of the more forgettable years they ever had. This includes the 1990's. Hopefully they can turn this around (and not reboot every 21 issues with a new #1).
  15. Was Legacy numbering still part of Alonso's regime? I knew #1's were coming, we all knew they would come eventually. I was just expecting Legacy to last more than a handful of issues.
  16. Business Bitcoin price drops 10% as hackers exploit Binance’s API keys Welcome to another rollercoaster day for the cryptocurrency community. In just a few minutes, bitcoin price crashed from $10,740 to $9,690, which represents a 10.8 percent crash. As always, it’s a bit hard to know for sure what’s happening. But one company in particular is having a bad day. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has spotted some unusual activities and halted withdrawals. Binance is one of the biggest exchanges out there. According to CoinMarketCap, it’s one of the 4 biggest exchanges for the top cryptocurrencies when it comes to traded volume. You had me at "it's a bit hard to know for sure what's happening". Just shut up and take my money!
  17. You summed it up very well. I wonder who does Stans books? Does he have an Accountant, or does he leave that to Max? Perhaps Max scares him into thinking he needs more money (even though he probably is set for life)..... (ha!)
  18. "In fact, some titles will feature two separate numberings, continuing the Legacy number and a new relaunched number for good measure. Which is... not confusing at all."
  19. Cebulski and Quesada missed their true calling. They belong on the Home Shopping Network pawning their wares.
