  1. New week, anybody pick up Generations related stuff? I passed again.
  2. I just browsed (did not buy) Hulk Generations #1. It reads like Cho is the main character, and Banner is just the washed up has been. Don't be fooled. This is just the latest issue of Totally Awesome Hulk, which ranks in the #115-#120 range (according to Comichron).
  3. Thx for the links. Interesting reads. I hate Marvel even more now. Back to the back issue bins....
  4. Inquiring minds want to know- Anybody pick up the Hulk Generations? I didn't. Anybody read it? I only purchased 1 Marvel Comic this week, and it was a 50+ year old reprint of Avengers #4
  5. Don't send off just anything. There is enough people doing that, and it still boggles the mind.
  6. I actually don't disagree with your agreeing with this (we can stop now)
  7. This immediately transports me back to my childhood:
  8. Always liked that cover. In fact many of the Avengers in the 100-150 range had some decent covers.
  9. And another large Con in the exact same building 2 months from now.
  10. 10 books, that's about $90 a book. Given the condition of them, the seller could probably make more selling them separately on the bay, but given the shipping, hassle, fees etc., is he that far off? Those little stickers don't mean much. Perhaps that is what he paid, perhaps not.
  11. Yes, I was wondering if there were any reports overall as to how the show was. Decent amount of comic dealers? Cosplayers run amok? Unfortunately, I was not able to go this year.
  12. I am really fortunate. I don't have a pull list. I pretty much show up religiously every Wednesday. The owner of the shop now notices me as a 'regular' and gives me a discount as if I did have a pull list. He knows what titles I buy, and by off chance there isn't one on the shelf, he will pull one out for me. He replenishes from a larger store he is affiliated with, so nobody gets shorted when they come for their pulls.
  13. The media, news outlets etc., will do a piece on how somebody found an Action Comics #1 in a wall during a home reno. Then they hear that it's worth xxx$$$$. So most neophytes who may have a box of child hood comics lying around see this story, and think 'Hey- I have old comics in a box. I must be sitting on a gold mine'. When the reality is they have some beat up Brozne/Copper, probably not worth more than the dollar bin, with some exceptions.
  14. Good luck. ( I remember a long time ago around these parts there was a place called The Batcave Comics. Nice selection, always had good floor traffic).
  15. DC Batman is pretty good. Flash is good. Justice League is ok, but I think they are still trying to find their groove.
  16. I can't stand the anticipation of how much money I will be saving, and what Silver Age books I will be getting instead this year.
  17. It still seems to me like they are forcing the Generations characters (not the mainstays) down our throats. Almost like, 'Well the old guard heroes say it's ok they are being replaced in this Universe, so you need to be ok with it'. I don't have the plot or storyline info, but that is the rumbling I heard. It is almost as if they are making us accept this, previous poor sales be damned. Then they can blame us again for not buying it. Until The Invisible Woman gets a sex change---Don't Make Mine Marvel (I mean fair is fair right?)
  18. Why the Marvel Cinematic Universe resembles nothing of their print Universe right now is plain stupidity. It defies the logic of Marketing and Sales really. Your movies are doing Billions of dollars. A kid decides to check out a comic book store after he sees Captain America Civil War, and the comic books couldn't be farther from the movies in characters, tone, continuity etc. Now granted they were not going to gain hundreds of thousands of new readers from the movies. But every little bit helps.
  19. Diversity is good. Change can be good. Marvel fudged them both up, though. This Generations initiative looks like more of the same.
  20. June Amazing Spiderman: Rank 15, units 59,464 Spiderman (Miles): Rank 81, units 29,428 Marvel, remind me again why you want Miles Morales in this Universe? Do you know that Wonder Woman Tasmanian Devil Special outsold Totally Awesome Hulk? The Hulk is one of the more recognized Marvel characters in the World, and you are not even in the Top 100 with this book? Remind me again Marvel why Cho is replacing Banner?
  21. They can touch my underwear, but they don't want to touch my comics?
