  4. (thumbs u You picked a very interesting topic. Oh....and I just got two more I post pictures later.
  5. here is another cool production error, I thought some of you might like to see but has nothing to do with my question. (thumbs u
  6. Here is another color error the ASM #174 see the blue shading of the Letter P in SPIDER-MAN in the Tital. The Diamond price or Whitman one also has this error but I can't seem to find a picture of that one either.
  7. Well since I can't seem to find the pictures of the ASM #188 lets try another comic the Avengers #178 it has all kinds of problems with the area above the Marvel Comics Group banner. I have noticed this type of problems with lots of 70's Marvel comics and that is one of the reasons why I was thinking maybe pieces of the printing plates may be breaking off during production as a possible cause.
  8. (thumbs u Thanks for the explination Jamie it sounds good but let me post some more examples and see if you and Dice still think it holds up. this book has at least 4 variantions on the color error, Like one foot in Yellow, two feet in Yellow, two feet and the arm in Yellow and one foot and the arm in Yellow. Well dang I can't seem to find pictures of the other variations of this book right now but when I do I will post them up. (thumbs u Thanks; Terry
  9. Hi Dice Here is a scan I already had on my computer, I thought that maybe the part that had Spidey's Left hand on the Red printing plate may have broken off so no red was applied to that part and it just got Yellow. I have seen lots of examples like this like the ASM #188 with the yellow feet and many 70's Marvels above the banners have parts or all the top in the wrong color, I have also seen it in the Lettering on many comics I can did up some more scans if you want.
  10. (thumbs u I always like the long explinations the best thank you very much, that was very interesting. So on my ASM #7 the inner cover got turned somewhere between being Cut from a sheet of covers and to going to the folding process? Can you explain how the folding process was done? Don't think I will ever get rid of that book as I collect Amazing Spider-Man comics with Double Covers. I am always looking for Production errors on comics and I found some interesting spidey books with pieces of the cover folded under and the piece folded in were allot bigger than it should be so they must have got folded before it got cut which is kind of cool error, also been seeing allot of 70's Marvel comics that have a portion of the top above the Marvel Comics Group banner and some times in the Lettering on the cover in the wrong colors and I was kind of thinking that maybe pieces of the Printing plates were breaking off during the printing process was the possible cause of this error, any ideals on that? Thanks for your time; Terry
  11. (thumbs u Thanks for posting that FD great stuff.
  12. What would CGC call this? maybe Dog Ear. CGC note; Manufactured with Large Dog Ear on back Cover. lol I have another cool example of this on a ASM #197 front cover.

Just glad he did not List a bunch of ASM Double Covers on ebay first or I would have been right in the middle of it, Thanks Joe you probably saved us all a bunch of money and trouble. (thumbs u Maybe this thread will put a hold on his sales.

  17. This one came from ebay Auction Link just got them today and was very suprised even had a very nice Fine- Marvel Team-Up #1 in there. Who says you can't get good deals on ebay any more.
  18. Hey DiceX could you maybe explain the process of how the covers are loaded and then put onto the pages in production? I Just wonder if the covers are folded before or after they are added to the pages and what kind of mechanisum is involved in lifting the cover to the pages? You explained eariler that static cling was the probable cause of Double Cover comics and I can see how the inner cover on that ASM #7 might have slipped out of place before it was attached to the pages, but it don't explain how it got on backwards and I am guessing that the comic Cover and pages are stapled together first then folded "you have probably explained this before too I just can't remember". I also find stuff like this very interesting and love to hear how it could have happened. I just recentaly found another Double Cover ASM comic where the outter cover is not fully covering the inner one and it has a weird cut to it like it was trimed with the book slightely twisted or in a bind, is that possible? Thanks for your time. (thumbs u
