Well. Here is my first entry into the club. Excited and frightened to enter this realm of collecting . This may tie with Tec 31 for me for the best batman cover.

very rare from my experience. Value bump is relative to what book and if the sig can be authenticated. It's on a pre robin batman cover. Looks legit and coming from a reputable seller.

How rare are bob Kane signatures on golden age comic books. How much value bump would you say it would get?

Thank you for your response. This brings up an interesting question. I am not a big buyer of restored books, so please help me to understand. You say that you prefer "no trimming", however, you are ok with other restoration. Are you then ok with pieces being added? If so, how big a piece? To me, I think I would rather have a book that had been trimmed, BUT is all original, rather THAN a full size book where pieces have been added. To me, at least the trimmed book is original. Maybe I am way off base here, as you are NOT the first person I have heard say that trimming is a deal breaker. That's an interesting way to put trimming. Does get me to rethink that form of resto. I'm ok with pieces added (depending on the book and price) as it repairs the book vs trimming which is damaging. Also I think pieces added can maybe be reversed, where as trimming can't unless you harm the book more.

I don't overly care myself about the level of restoration, just more so the type. I prefer no trimming and no interior lightnening. I care more about PQ then restoration on these golden age books. I'd rather have a restored book than a blue label brittle book myself. Unless I know the details of how brittle the book truly is (if its just a corner or whatever).

Do you think a book like adventure comics 247 will lose some value as it doesn't have the same appeal to the generation growing up now that it did to the past? I feel the legion of superheroes isn't very relevant (from what I've seen anyway) to keep it a top 25 silver age key. Thoughts?

Sidenote: action 123 is so damn tough to find. I've seen more action comics under 25 hit the market then 123.

I was after the first superman flight book and did some research. I'm on the Superman 30 side, the fact it's in the text is what sways me. And it's 4 years earlier then Action 123. A certain grading company also puts it on their label as the first time he flies, if that means anything to anyone here.

Don't hold the book, not without a non refundable deposit on it. Tell him you will continue to try and sell and when he has the money, if you still have it, you will sell it to him. But if he never asked you to hold it, I don't think you have recourse to blast him. Just don't ignore him going forward. This is why I don't deal in anything "high end" on Facebook. After I put in a lot of work, I got nothing as the buyer bailed on a bunch of books he promised to buy. Never again. I may be wrong in this assumption but to me, Facebook is worse or just as bad as eBay for this kind of nonsense. Before you "blast" the guy on Facebook, what were the terms you agreed to with the potential buyer? Don't want to burn yourself in the process. Facebook is hit or miss at the start. After you've been in the groups a while and talked with fellow collectors, you get a general sense who is serious and who isn't. The "big book" community on there isn't small but it is no by no means large either. I've had that happen to me before as well. It is frustrating, and that's why I do non-refundable deposits if they want a hold unless I know them and have dealt with them. Facebook can be great and awful. I traded an Xmen 1 for a Superman 10 on there but have also been sent an ASM 28 with no color touch disclosed that was covered with sharpie bleed through. A deal is not a deal on there until you have the money. Don't hold books on Facebook. Yeah i purchased a real nice ASM 2 in the VG range for about half market value. Then upon closer inspection (prior the seller shipping), I noticed bleed through. I asked about resto prior to me seeing it and he said no. Not everyone can tell right away i guess so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He gave me my money back without issues but you do have to becareful.

Is this the issue where Superman first flys? I believe Superman 30 is where he first flies, also the first Mr.Myxzplk (or however it's spelled )
