  1. But it makes no sense….it’s not even the Charlton variant, which is supposed to be scarcer.
  2. This is the full line except for the airplane and the guillotine covers (TFTC 43 and 27). They’ve been at it for a couple of years, and the first EC one was the one with TFTC 22 on the cover. There were 2 PFTC releases prior to that with non-EC label art
  3. I’ve only started discovering Spirit sections in the last year or so and these two are a couple of favorites.
  4. This cover isn’t key nor is it expensive, but I just absolutely love it.
  5. This was an awesome thread! I’m happy to have picked up a book from you.
  6. Here are a couple of the other releases. I’ll try to get a group shot of them all tomorrow.
  7. As far as stuff that is in the wild, here’s a little story. I have a dealer buddy in the Southeast that I’ve been dealing with off and on since 1989. He has a guy that comes in every couple of years with two books in a crinkled brown paper bag. He sits and they talk for a while, cut cards, just basically hang out. He brings the books in because he knows that my friend likes them and would love to have them, but he isn’t interested in selling. Yet. He’s now a pretty elderly gentleman, and he brings these same two books in each time, just to let my friend know that he still has them and to promise him that he will sell them and the rest of his collection to him when he’s ready. The two books in that well-worn paper bag roughly grade out at around f/vf, according to my friend. Those books? 2 copies of Captain America Comics #1.
  8. I really don’t know what is happening here…but these are Nazi…things? They have a swastika on their back and their boat says “Nazi Invasion Barge”. Ya gotta love Schomburg labels on equipment!
  9. This is a recent pick up. The first appearance of the Boy Heroes, and only 5 unrestored copies in the census (7 overall).
  10. His appearance in 187 is an odd one. He looks more recognizable in the interior story, but on the back cover Bugs calls him Yosemite Sam. Inside he’s called Scuttlebutt Sam but it’s definitely him. Here’s the interior page where we first see him and the top of the back page where he is referred to by name. I love this thread-there’s SO much unexplored content in these books!
  11. I was pleasantly surprised at this one too. So, only 2 total Sam GA covers, correct? One front and one back?
  12. This could be interesting. Second highest graded copy behind two 6.5’s.https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/adventure/adventure-comics-37-dc-1939-cgc-fn-60-off-white-pages/a/122211-13005.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116
