  1. One of my big obsession books, and my favorite Harvey horror cover.
  2. Heritage auctioned off a handful of complete stories in the early 2000s but I haven’t seen any since.
  3. Steering this back to the unpopular opinion theme, and since it is the spooky season I’ll give you one that is horror-related: Tomb of Terror 15 is not a horror cover, it’s a sci-fi cover. That is a robot/android head exploding, not a human being.
  4. Bet! I just hope it’s good. I’ve seen some reviews that were rough already.
  5. One of my favorite non-mythos short stories of HPL’s is “The Picture in the House”. I recently acquired the page that the narrator describes in the story. From Regnum Congo, this page is from the second German printing in 1609 with the illustration by Theodor de Bry. The speculation is that Lovecraft didn’t read the original, but rather the picture and description of it in Thomas Huxley's Evidence as to Man's Place in Nature. Either way, the illustration of the “cannibal market” is pretty graphic.
  6. Those Charlton war giants are a fun (and tough!) set to put together. Congrats on a cool one.
  7. Of course the first installment was in The Comics Magazine as Dr. Mystic;https://medium.com/@Meimi/the-comics-magazine-1-doctor-occult-1936-3c436af221b0 The previous story arc, The Werewolf, wrapped up in More Fun 13. More Fun 14 picks up where part 1 in The Comics Magazine 1 left off.
  8. That 8.0 must not have lasted long-I can’t find it (or I’d have bought it!)
  9. War Comics 4 beats it, even if it isn’t noted as a greytone on the cover. The figures in the spotlight are a grey/wash tone.
  10. One of EC’s most disturbing stories, IMHO. From Haunt of Fear 27, with art by Reed Crandall.
  11. Very strong finish on this one, and it’s on my short list for books to pick up in the next year or so (but even my short list is a big list, lol).
  12. Shocking finish compared to the 4.0 cr/ow that went for the same price last October:https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/crime/crime-patrol-15-ec-1950-cgc-fn-65-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7279-92052.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116
  13. Decent cover but not even a Top 5 Harvey cover for me nor even a Top 10 PCH cover….I just don’t get the appeal.
  14. The staple rust could also be a by-product of the storage of slabbed books. I’m not sure how many collectors are aware of the staple rust issue involved with certain fireproof safes.
  15. Thanks for sharing these pages! I don’t think I’ve seen these issues of New Adventure up for sale since.
  16. Is there a full list of what was in the collection?
