  1. I am unsure of a couple things....unless I missed something, maybe you can clarify them for me please: 1. What is the primary purpose of your raffle? Is it to draw customers? Is it a conversation piece? I am unclear what your actual goal is in this.....is it to make money? Knowing that helps you with picking out your prize. 2. $100 prize is just fine, but how many raffle tickets are you going to try and sell? If you were charging $2 per ticket...with a max ticket total of 100....then you're on to something I think. You would net out $100---makes sense. Charging $20 to win a prize worth $100 with the amount of tickets to sell unknown (or as many as possible) seems like a horrible proposition to me. I can't imagine many people lining up for that----the risk reward ratio for buyers is really quite poor. You might also face some customer backlash as a result.
  2. Some methodology detailing who you might be dealing with is definitely warranted. Unless under direct threat that they will ride that lightening all the way to public shaming for the PL or HOS....there is zero impetus for individuals to actually do the right thing under the current system.
  3. This place is awesome..... and so is Woowoo and Comicsyte95. I'm very happy that you and your family are safe while also feeling horrible about your losses. I too will be more than happy to contribute some gems to your new collection. When you are settled---hopefully soon---please feel free to PM me. I think I can confidently say that all of us on these Boards are having good thoughts for all of you so tragically affected by this disaster.
  4. I don't think I'd be using nail polish remover on a slab. If mattn792 found success, great for them, but I think Goo Gone is a far better and lower risk proposition. Simply peel as much of the label off as you can....scrape the remainder with your fingernail to get to the "backing" of the sticker. Simply apply some Goo Gone....wait two minutes and you can work the remaining residue off with your fingernail again so you avoid any scratches. Then simply wipe off the residue... This is what I use and it works like a charm.....
  5. I don't have a stake in this discussion---I just wanted to comment on reading most of these posts; Wow....so many guys and gals on here have a tremendous amount of knowledge---it's incredible to read the posts and then the follow-up dialogue from other well-schooled members that are agreeing or disagreeing to the information posted. It's impressive.....albeit intimidating too! HA!
  6. I find it more than a little concerning that a refund has yet to take place. This isn't rocket science, either present the book or give a refund as requested. The rules state waiting a full 30 days for the probation list or other alternatives and that is fine, but this is certainly "conduct unbecoming" from a seller on these Boards. Hopefully, this will be addressed soon and both parties can go their separate ways.
  7. Take this as well please Chris. So sorry that I was late to your sale---hope this helps out a bit and I'll go and look for some more....
  8. Great thread....thanks for posting all of the pics and write-ups. I really enjoyed perusing it all!
  9. Congratulations! Fantastic news from you on this update---thank you for sharing!
  10. It's generally considered poor form to comment on someone else's thread about their prices, pricing and/or grading. There are times and places for such discussions....but unless these types of comments are clearly solicited, more restaint is better than less.
  11. I obviously misunderstood another post....my fault. The more dealers, locally and next-of-state that know....the better...
  12. I have to agree. Spider-Gwen is everywhere while Lobo has yet to deliver anything at all. It's strange that cos players can have such a large influence on the market, yet here we are......
  13. Jesus....this is beyond awful. I'll be watching for these books throughout Vegas for you too..... I'm glad you did nothing at the time.......you're still alive to post this and when it's all said and done, your life is far more important....
  14. As per my post, I offer my humble apologies as I simply misunderstood your listing title---sorry! Thank you for clarifying it though and good luck your sale!
  15. Well thought out and written---smart of you to already run your store in a complimentary fashion.
  16. I'm certainly not trying to derail your thread.....and if I'm wrong, I apologize in advance; but isn't the first appearance of Kid Kaiju in Totally Awesome Hulk #3, not this book.....???
  17. Good picks---I like your thinking....
  18. I agree. All you can do is consistently treat people in a courteous and respectful manner and try to be "their" comic and gaming merchant. You will never please everyone, but if customers are consistently treated well, you will do just fine. You managed to get the "bad" review out of the way---good stuff! Every one gets one, has one or will get one......just ignore this review as clearly many others have already. Onward and upward---congrats!
