  1. If this character utilizes multiple accounts and aliases.....this is pretty scary. Can I ask what the name behind the spider_web_comics_241 is? I'm guessing any sellers on here should be aware of it and the fact that they use multiple accounts for nefarious purposes.....
  2. Take the X-Men #129 and Hawkman #4 as per PM--- Thank you!
  3. $150 is a good number....I use a total max of $200 currently. These stories about eBay and the scammers truly terrify me. These turds have even figured out how maintain 100% rating while ripping other people off....incredible....
  4. This is beyond atrocious----I'm really sorry this clown totally victimized you.
  5. Must have the button again on the bounce....HA!
  6. Hmmmm....I use the same mailer, bubble wrap, bags and boards + a piece of rigid cardboard for extra support. I should look at removing that component to bring down the weight. Thank you for sharing this!
  7. I have to respectfully disagree with you on this. If I properly (my definition of properly) pack up 3 books for shipment.....there is no way that I can send that 1st class as that would be over 1lb. Even at $5.00 shipping price....you have the cost of the actual shipping, eBay takes $.50 off of that and you still need to figure in your costs of bubble wrap, tape, mailer etc.. With media Mail and 2 lbs shipping weight you're pretty much at breakeven with the actual cost. Basically, you are donating your time to do this as there really is no ROR here....
  8. Well said. I like it too....I have a feeling about this character.....just a gut feeling that this book will be even more expensive next year. It appears to me that this character has really impacted a lot of readers.....so far, they can't get enough of him. But only time will tell if it was a wise move to hold all of my TT12 copies or perhaps just sell a few to ride the wave....
  9. Well, from the look of things, TT 12 seems to be the winner. DN Metal #2 came out at the same time....and I think you're supposed to read it first. Surprising the disparity of price ranges for both books. I would think DN Metal #2 would be a bit warmer....perhaps it's due to being in the main line-up for this event as well as the amount of covers available for that book. Could simply be dilution....
  10. Oh I certainly agree---maybe it was the way you described the email exchange with this character....it actually terrified me. I couldn't block them fast enough. I hope eBay removes the rest of this buyer's dirt on your name---it's unreal how some people behave hiding behind their computer.
  11. To take a direct hit like that really hurts the bottom line. You need to sell a lot of books to make up for the total loss + shipping of that book---I'm really sorry to hear this...
  12. I think you answered your own question: IE your OCD focusing on the flaw. I would email the seller immediately and provide the pics---and ask about the flaw and why it was not disclosed.....see what he or she says first as they may offer a substantial refund and that might allow you to live with it. If the numbers do not add up, absolutely return it....and make sure it is fully insured with an ID signature verification upon the return as I could see this going totally sideways on you.
  13. Apologies....I was scrolling through your thread and didn't notice that those S/M DP books were already claimed before I posted.
  14. Well, one thing is for sure, this topic has created a lot of message traffic. Given that he's a veteran of the cons and having his own booth, whatever he decides to do will be measured and evaluated. Whenever I think of a raffle, I always think of something I can't afford (or do not want to). It's almost like gifts....the best ones to give someone are something that they wouldn't buy for themself. Most of the classic covers are simply too expensive for this purpose so what about reprints? There is one classic book that every collector wants.....an AF 15. How about a copy of the True Believers AF 15 reprint put out 3-4 months ago in CGC 9.8? I think the price is cheap enough that you could also throw in another title, like the ASM 1 or the IH 181. Pick 2....both in CGC 9.8 and I bet that will come in under $100. I think any collector or fan would love it. It's a great prize as these reprints tend to up over time since that is as close as many collectors will come to the real books. I would also go down to a $10 purchase per ticket.....
  15. Ah. Thank you for clarifying that....I really don't know how I misinterpreted his intentions... I think the raffle parameters should be defined by the stock you are bringing to the show. it depends on your inventory make-up and expected sales of $1 books to wall books to slabs. Then you could define a reasonable "entry" cost for the raffle.
