  1. I am not going to quote your response given the sheer size of it, but it is certainly a very thoughtful gesture and effort for you to help a fellow Boardie like this. This is one of the reasons this community needs to be supported and developed further. Great post!
  2. They do keep track of those figures, but that's based on the seller filing a case against them. I think they use rolling 6 month periods, so some buyers can be absolute menaces for awhile and then it just magically goes away after that elapsed period of time.
  3. There are no "automatic" penalties for buyers who cancel orders. You do not have to accept their cancellation request and can file a "non-paying" bidder case on them....but as far as I know, there is no score being kept on buyers who habitually cancel orders (at least none that I am aware of).
  4. Not automatically. As far as I know, you have to manually enter every email address or eBay name that you want blocked.
  5. I'm quite surprised this seller only has one negative.....
  6. +1000! My thoughts exactly...but far more eloquently stated---thank you for that. I think listings like these have real negative impacts on new or not that knowledgeable collectors. Once they get completely burned....they will rarely come back. This hurts the entire industry as readers, collectors, buyers and sellers....there is absolutely nothing good coming from such duplicitous auctions.
  7. Yes, the listing is for the proper title of the book, even though the book doesn't show that particular phrase at all. Caveat Emptor certainly applies here, but come on---everyone here was a "newbie" at some point and to think that this listing was an example of full disclosure is disingenuous....at best.
  8. Nothing wrong with this listing and not called FF #52??? Here is the listing title.....again. Marvel's Greatest Comics Fantastic Four #52 First Appearance of Black Panther
  9. Such good advice as those smoking hot ratio variants need to be sold by the shop for higher prices to cover those ancillary bills. Very good ideas you've proposed.....even the smallest personal touch can impress and improve a relationship.
  10. That is such a crappy feeling when you had that "gut" feeling, didn't follow it and then witness the coulda-shoulda.....
  11. I think his cameo is actually in the Casting. Maybe this will be a "same time" different issue (like ASM 252, MTU 141 and SW 8). Weren't TT 12 and DNM 2 released the same day?
  12. I guess this is another example of truth being stranger than fiction. I actually did wonder about the first appearance of the BWL. According to release dates as well as the order the books are to be read in, Dark Nights Metal #2 actually precedes TT#12.....but the market decided otherwise.
  13. It's not just pricing I would guess....if you have an excellent track record, potential buyers are much more inclined to try you out....
  14. I think it will be very interesting to see how well they hold up. What I like the best is that they are trying to produce something decent without having Wolverine or Deadpool in it for crying out loud. I think some of the price increases are a result of people actually looking at Marvel books again and wanting to read the storyline(s). I've seen many people entering stores recently and opening up pull boxes to order the Avengers, Thanos, Dark Nights Metal and Doctor Strange (DS to a lesser extent). I think it's also interesting that Marvel is now using interior cover pages for 2nd and 3rd prints---good for them for actually putting in some bloody effort---it seems like it's been a long time since they have actually put on their thinking caps. I wonder how much this has to do with the new Editor-In-Chief???
  15. Actually I think there are 3 words uttered that tell you exactly what it is....but you are certainly right about no 1st appearance imo anyways.
  16. Quite possibly....and I am sure that I complicating matters further when I say that I disagree with the last 3 words of your assessment of #795. Regardless, it doesn't matter what I think.....if the market loves it and continues to love it, then that's your answer.....
  17. I bet on Invincible Iron Man #9 because it was the the first RiRi on a cover in Iron Armor. The majority chose issue #7 which was her 1st appearance not in armor. Hmmmm...good question. I certainly don't think this issue will hurt anyone's collection, but I don't think it's a first appearance. I don't want to spoil anyone's reading, so I'm not sure how to comment any further....
  18. I agree.....and probably using drek was a poor choice. I simply like the idea of examples of ridiculously over-priced non-key books. We're all in comic stores and sometimes, there are a lot of 'head scratchers' masquerading as wall books. Makes for some funny reading!
  19. Not sure, but boy, would this make a great new thread! Recently over-priced Drek to be avoided......or the highest priced drek you can find! I would follow that thread!
  20. In general, yes....but these rules are broken all the time.
  21. 675 is the cameo, 676 is the full. The market loves the first full appearance....not the cameo so much.... This happens on so many other books too....but you already knew that.
