  1. I have a box of moderns ready to ship but I think I’m going to hold off until I feel better about spending my money with CGC. Modern turn around times are acceptable but all these other issues make me want to boycott.
  2. Jim Lee I believe Tix go on sale today... the show really sneaks up on ya.
  3. I would be down for this, but Marwood makes a good point. I think the current turn around times (specifically with older books) need to be more aggressively addressed by consumers as well.
  4. ABSOLUTE BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM HC 30TH ANNIV ED BATMAN #251 FACSIMILE EDITION IMMORTAL HULK HC VOL 01
  5. My first mail in submission, before I had only done on site grading. Some newton rings on Spidey and Deadpool. Not horrible ones.
  6. It’s really the art that made me grab this one, I’ve heard the story is a bit of a snooze fest.
  7. Sucks so hear this is still an issue, I thought it had been mostly resolved. Would be interested in seeing some recent examples.
  8. Modern non fast track received 8/14 went into grading / QC today 9/11
  9. Seems simple to me: wait in line for an hour at most (in my experience) or wait several weeks.
  10. I usually get the banner right away, then the email/push notification a few hours later.
  11. Couple sweet Bat hardcovers I got in today: And an eBay bucks coupon motivated me to finally pick up the last 2 volumes of Absolute Transmetropolitan. Also especially because Vol 3 is nearing OOP status. Re-reading volume 1 now...such a brilliant story with constant eye catching art, very worthy of this beautiful format. Spider says spend your $$$ now you punks!!!
  12. subs received 8/14 1 Magazine entered Grading/QC today 9/9 4 modern non Fast track still in Scheduled for Grading 1 Value in Scheduled for Grading
  13. Alright guys, I’m an A-hole. If a piece I love is unavailable to me I’ll just have to be satisfied with the image on the screen like the rest of you thanks for the input
  14. Wondering how you guys felt about making your own prints out of OA. Sometimes I see art (commissions mostly) and I’m in love but it’s either A. NFS or B. Out of my price range. Recently I saw a painting from an artist on CAF(not a big name) but it was unaffordable, but I still really wanted it. So I saved the image and used the site EZprints.com to create a 12x18 print. Came out pretty good. I wondered if this was kind of “cheap move” though. I dont think its so bad as long as I am not selling the print or anything like that. Cost less than $20 to have made. Anyone else ever do this? There’s a few more I’m thinking about doing. Am I being an A-hole?
  15. I was thinking about this yesterday, it’s probably been discussed before, but most us are clearly bothered by the long CGC wait. What do you guys think an acceptable wait would be? Do they have enough employees? Are we underestimating the volume of books they receive? I’d love to be hired by CGC and go in my first day motivated to move things along and then be hit with stacks of 10,000 books and say “ Oh wow now I get it”
  16. Neal Adams gave me a hard time when I first met him for an autograph ($60 for 3 signed prints) because I didn’t want them personalized. At first I was confused and didn’t know why he seemed so annoyed, but a bit later i surmised that maybe he thinks I’m a flipper since I don’t want my name written on the prints. Just not my thing when it comes to prints or covers. Sorry Neal...
  17. Well I’ve only read it once, and I did so in the Absolute format. I purchased each volume separately over an 8 month period or so. I did read other things during that time. I think a short break between volumes was necessary. The absolutes are so gorgeous, and I bought vol 1 without any prior knowledge of the story other than its epic reputation. So it was a more expensive way to jump in but I trusted it would be worth it and it definitely was.
  18. Wow guys, keep em comin’! I’m due for a re-read...
