  1. Hi Sqeggs! Great looking More Funs!! Them's some scarce books.
  2. I kinda saw that coming. Holy Harvey -- when the FEMA truck is under water, that's trouble. Compared to that, yes, Harvey Korman ain't so bad.
  3. Thank so much for the awesome play-by-play. You're the comic book's Howard Cosell! Now to find my 15 minutes of gentle sunlight. Um, amazing Jungle 14 btw.
  4. Yep, you must know I'm always bedazzled by Planet 2, in any grade, but your copy is just over the top. I'm glossy green (and red and blue and yellow and pink) with envy.
  5. Yes, very good point Jimjum! This was a 1948 version of Baker. Above: Another fabulous Futura page by Bagnoli from Planet 57 (courtesy of Comic Book Plus): "Miniature living sirens from Neptune" -- that's what I'm talkin' about!
  6. Hey Rick: great way to show off our beloved Planet Comics with those splash pages! A few random thoughts: It's Ingels on the Auro story -- that demonic looking cad along the left side would be right at home in EC PCH title. The Italian guy doing the Futura story is Enrico Bagnoli. A relatively unsung but amazing artist with brilliant pencil and ink work and a classic romantic style. His short run on Planet is chock full of lush ladies in peril. As for Baker, dare I say (dare i?) that this was not his finest work, e.g., Mysta's face and hair in this and other panels just appears a bit warped. Seems to me that he saved his best stuff for the non-sci-fi books.
  7. Simply spectacular, Steve!! New pick-up? With that fabulous copy I was tempted to hide my own humble recent arrival for another day, but figured mine would show off Steve's 9.2 to even greater effect! Love the green guy's little legs dangling behind him, and the peek-a-boo laser-blasting alien in need of some Visine. (those scuff marks around the hull of the spaceship are on the plastic, not the cover)
  8. Thanks for sharing those pics from SOTI! Never seen the insides before. How/why did the bibliography let you down?
  9. @kelholt -- Great stuff, Kelly!! So how are you eliminating the glare off the plastic?
  10. Let me add my kudos and congrats! Very lovely books! The blues on #27 and the purples on #14 really shine.
  11. Absolutely stunning! + Fletcher Hanks = out of the park home run.
  12. Looks like Brienne in GoT! Without the hair dye of course.
  13. Just a routine semi-annual dental cleaning. Lot of tartar build-up eating all that swamp grass.
  14. Here's my first Jungle. Astarita doing very fine work. I just couldn't resist the cover, which has a bit for everyone. That bizarre tiki bird thing on the right side of the cover really transforms things into a whole new level of GA crazy.
  15. Beautiful, Rick! Somehow I missed this page of the thread. PM me when you tire of it or find a nicer copy!!
  16. Thanks @Johnny545 / @gino2paulus2 / @comicjack / @TheWatcher / @lou_fine / @Straw-Man !! Maybe I'll upgrade the Wonderworld 9 one day, but for now I'll just pretend the tape is a unique and personable "feature" of the book.
  17. So cool! I had a close look at this book courtesy of 143ksk himself. Looks even nicer in the flesh.
  18. Welcome to the boards Brian! The GA thread is where the cool kids hang out!
  19. My one WW Chicago purchase (also posted on the Fox thread). Great colors! Discreetly applied contiguous tape! Raw and readable!
  20. Tremendous! Love that AMF!!! I thought I had sifted through the GA books pretty well, but clearly missed this one, or was too late. Where'd you find this gem?
